Won't Boot Up...

I just recently got my laptop for christmas. It uses Vista [yeah...ugh].
Ok...so... I was able to load Fable for the first go around, and I even played it. I decided to take a break for a bit since a friend came down and I wanted to visit, but apparently that was a no-no. I was about to play it today, and i popped in the CD and it said to put disk 1 in. I did. and I clicked ok...over....and over...and over....and over...and over....and over...and OVER!!! It still didn't work. I deleted half of the games I knew I would never play, and I even got rid of some of the unnecessary toolbars.

Still didn't work...SO. I uninstalled it and hoped that would work out. But when I was ready to Reinstall... it wouldn't read the disk. It won't boot up, won't find the file, and not even RUN command will work out.

So... i was just wondering...WHAT THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!?!

O.o

I also need to mention that I'm using Lost Chapters.

Re: Won't Boot Up...

Tried borrowing a friends game and seeing if it will read that? Might be a problem with the actual disc itself.

Re: Won't Boot Up...

I don't know anyone else who has this game... >_< I think I'm the only one out of my buddies who has it.

Maybe try it on a friends computer then and see if their computer will even read it.

Re: Won't Boot Up...

Hmm.... That might work... I'll try that now.

I tried it on the other computer... it catches it and works fine. I think it's Vista.
I'll probably have to update it or do something about it.

Re: Won't Boot Up...

Does it cost money to update anything?

No its merely like a patch thats all.

Re: Won't Boot Up...

I tried the system restore thing... that didn't work. How do I get to the other option?

Ok... Tried the other thingy for Windows update... i doubt it's working...

Re: Won't Boot Up...

Ok I did it... i put the cd in... it still won't read it.

Sounds like an odd problem indeed unsure what else i can suggest to remedy this issue.

I think I need to update Vista to Ultimate. I'm running off of Home Basic so that could be the big problem... But unfortunatly it costs money to upgrade. At least I think that's what the webpage means by USD

Could be, im not to familiar with the different windows vista packages and their compatibility.

Re: Won't Boot Up...

I got the same problem with my Crysis-disc...

If it is reading the disc (you can probably see this by looking at some light-indicator on the front) just let it read and read and read for 10-15 min. Then it should find the disc, works for me anyway.

(Or mount an .iso you downloaded... since you bought the game I think its legit!)

Need to get a program to do it first, plenty of free ones around just have to find one that is easy to use for you. Type Free Virtual CD into google or words to that effect and im sure you will find one that is simple to use.

How bout this. I'll wait till my step dad gets home, cause he's good with this type of stuff... if he can't fix it. I'll try the .iso.
