Xbox 360 Screen Help

This is what my screen normally looks like:

But now it looks like this:

You might not be able to see much of a difference but the screen looks a lot "paler". Like it's lost colour. It doesn't happen on TV channels so It's only my Xbox.

It's quite annoying because you really can't see any difference in pictures...

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Re: Xbox 360 Screen Help

Try playing around with your Display Settings.

Re: Xbox 360 Screen Help

Do you use a scart, HDMI or component cable?

Re: Xbox 360 Screen Help

Component Cable.

This is the best picture I can find.

As you can see, the top and bottom is red. Usually, it's like the same colour as a tea stain.

Oblivion was the game it all started on. It's like it has a "red filter" over my TV.

Stupid question but best to get obvious out of the way first. Have you checked the connection on 360 and the TV and made sure the switch is still set to HD. Also try switching resolution in the Dashboard options and see if there is any change.

Re: Xbox 360 Screen Help

It's all set to HD, everything is plugged in correctly and changing the resolution does nothing. :(

It happened midgame, actually.

I was playing Oblivion and sleeping for 24 hour periods and as soon as the timer vanished, I clicked the bed straight away and went back to sleep for another 24 hours. It happened during this time... It wasn't like I switched on my Xbox and it did this, it just kinda happened right in my face.

Longshot but try it on another TV or see if you can borrow a friends component cable. If it still has the same issue with another cable and on another TV then the issue is likely the 360 video port.

F**k. Yeah, I'll try it downstairs.

If it does the same on that TV then try and find another cable and try that because sometimes the cables can become faulty.

Re: Xbox 360 Screen Help

It works fine on another TV... So obviously it's my TV. But it's weird because I just switched over to BBC2 and the picture is fine.

Tried tuning 360 into a different channel or using different audio/video ports if you have any on TV?

Re: Xbox 360 Screen Help

Nothing's working... And no, I don't have any other ports on my TV. I think the current port is faulty... Even though the TV's only a month old.

EDIT:

Yeah. SD works but it looks awful and blurry... Like really bad. Luckily, I'm going away on Saturday so hopefully it'll be sorted when I get back. Thanks Andy for your help.

That's probably what the issue is, I had similar happen to me when using Composite cables.

That's nice to know, actually. At least it's not just mine.

I think I have a 1 year warranty and the TV is less than a month old so either way It should get either repaired or fixed.

Thanks everyone.
