Someone was kind enough on xbox.com to take the time to help me with the problems many others have been having with the new xbox 360 system update.
So i will post the solution they posted to help out my fellow players here at Project Ego:
The first thing i did was, go to system settings and memory, press (Y) when you have hard drive highlighted.
This will go into device options, select "Clear System Cache"
Afterwards, turn off your xbox and try downloading the update again.
If that didn't work for you then the next option is to go back to the system storage page, press these buttons in this order: LB RB (X) LB RB (X) a window will pop up saying it will delete the system update. Do so, this will remove any game updates you have but will not effect saves or DLC's.
After you have done that restart your 360 if it didn't already do it for you and try downloading the update again.
It worked for me the first time i did this, I hope it helps some people out.
Thanks to the helpful community at Xbox.com for this information.
(Apologies if a solution has already been posted while i was typing this one up.)
