xbox live help

ok, i really want to connect to xbox live, but i have no idea how. so i will tell you all what kind of setup i have and hopfully someone can help me. i have my xbox in my room next to my laptop. my laptop is connected to the internet by a wireless modem in another room. so what do i need to do to connect to xbox live? and once i do, how do i pay for it? do you by a card or something at a store? if someone could help me out that would be great.

Im not sure if you can connect a 360 to Live through a laptop (someone asked before but ive never seen it done). However you connect it through a router with an Ethernet cable or wireless adapter. You can purchase live through the Xbox guide or buy a card from a shop or online.
