Xbox or no Xbox. That is the question

Hey all, I'll get straight to the point.

I don't have an Xbox 360, and if I get one, it will probably only be for Fable 2 and Assassins Creed. However, I prefer playing games on the PC and have no job, although I do get an allowance of $50 a month. I am hoping by the time those games come out I will have a job, but it would still take me ages to save up the $600 odd dollars to be able to buy the basic Xbox package and both the games. Also, the only good computer in the house is my dads one which he is always on when he's home, so my time on it would be limited.

So should I wait longer than I have to and get the PC version, which will have greater graphics and modding capabilities (and I do love my mods) or should I save my moolah and get the 360 and games straight when they come out.

As a new 360 owner I have this to say: Get the 360. The main advantage, and a big one at that, is how simple it is. With any console you know all you have to do is put the game disc in and play, whilst getting games to work on your PC can be a helluva hassle! ... Especially for me, as my PC is possessed by something. Something... evil.

My PC... well, I've given up hope about that peice of infernal doom really. I use it to play those games I absolutely looooove, but as for newer games: I'll be getting those for the 360.

Also, your console will always be up-to-date for games, whilst a PC needs constant hardware upgrades as games get more advanced. Getting a PC capable of handling those games, I think, will cost a helluva lot more than buying the 360 and the games. You don't want to be playing on your dad's really, because as you say, it is his computer and he can bully you away from it at will.

Hummm... I was leaning towards the Xbox side anyway I think... But its a lot of moolah...

Yeah well, you said the only "good" computer in the house was your dad's. Saving up for your own "good" computer will take longer. Trust me. The 360 will save you cash in the long run.

mmmyeah. ok. There would be less glitches on the Xbox anyway.

I think Tsuyu has got it spot on, get the Xbox 360 as in the long run it will work out to be the cheaper of the two. You wont be needing any upgrades or having to update drivers/or patches etc with the Xbox 360 versions and you will have the peace of mind knowing they will definately run when you buy them.

Yeah, I was drawn towards the Xbox anyway. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making the wrong decision.

You may miss out on the modding capabilities and such but will have you money and give you peace of mind as i said in the long run so yeah i believe it is the right choice.
