You think you are big?

Ever wondered how big our planet is compared to several other galactic features? Well here you are:

The Earth Is Very Small - BREAK.com

You think you are so big, but really you are no more than the most microscopic piece of nothingness on this side of the Milky Way. All you Hollywood celebrities ain't got nothing on this...

Re: You think you are big?

Weirrrd
I was thinking about this the other day.

Just about how teachers still have a go at me cos of my uniform. And how pointless that was.
& that started a whole trail of thought to how completely insignificent this whole planet is. And every little thing we worry about in our own lives...

Kinda depressing but really interesting thought.

Re: You think you are big?

If you put it like that, then yeah - I guess it is kinda depressing. But life is what you make of it, inasmuch as it is possible to anyway

Re: You think you are big?

It truly depends on your point of view. If you look at it in the spectrum of the entire universe then a single life seems meaningless. However, a man could never dream of understanding the universe. This is a burden that only a god can bear.

If you look at it from a man’s prospective then you will see that the world is much too big for you to understand. Because of this the small things that affect us and others matter the most on this world. The good you can do for others or the pain you cause can define your life and give it purpose. The big picture is great to ponder about just don’t forget what matters.

Re: You think you are big?

That sounded like the plot of Fable, just modified a little. You do understand how old this topic is though, do you?

Re: You think you are big?

No, enlighten me. The topic caught my eye and I replied to it. If it sounded like a modified plot perhaps that is because this question has been debated by philosophers since the idea that there was more to existence than our world. You could most likely relate this train of thought to thousands of stories that have been told with the purpose to express this train of thought. It is simply a truth of life and how you perceive it.

Re: You think you are big?

Well since Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus and Neptune are all gas planets they should be bigger then Earth and Oldschoolrpger is right this has been in the minds of many great people since man first looked up and wounder if this is the only place where life is at. And so we make answers most use a god or gods. Thay use this to answer the questin they can not. This is because people win never know just how big space is or map it out. We will never see more than 1/10,000,000 of how big it is mabey not even that much. So dont say the we was just copying off a game because man has always wounder and always will just they way things are soposed to be.

I don't know what the big deal is? All I did was say his logic sounded a little like the Fable plot. And only one part of his post.

You, my friend, obviously took your education in high value:thumbsup: . I'm guessing you have a full college education. But alas, I'm only 16 1/2 so I'm not there yet>.< .
