Rock drummers are usually all about speed. I agree with Arseface on this, though I don't like jazz in general, the drummers are my favorite because of the awesome grooves.

The bassing on this song is good, really adds flavour.

I am a fan of bass, if it is done right.

Disagree. I think the bass is the most underrated instrument in rock circles.
You could be right. I was tempted to nudge it into first but then the Sex Pistols and the Red Hot Chili Peppers came to mind and I didn't. Probably more instances of bassist players going unnoticed than drums, but then again there are definitely more instances of drummers being kicked out of bands for getting an ego.

Rock drummers are usually all about speed.
You think so? I thought that was more characteristically Metal. When I think Rock drummers the image of keeping a standard rock beat in nearly every song comes to mind. I guess there are a few cases where it's all about speed (Van Halen comes to mind).

Bassists are humble, second only to the noble roadie.

Ever played Brütal Legend? Oh, nevermind...

Korn is pretty big on bass.

Well I did have metal in mind, but generally I wouldn't really separate the two when it comes to the technical level of play (not sure if I should, though). Not saying it's always true, I just feel the quirky grooves of jazz drummers are a bit better than the constant beats.

You should.

Rock and Metal are quite different.

To put it into context; Elvis was Rock. Marilyn Manson is Metal.

Not quite. Elvis was Rock'n'Roll. Rock developed later (and from it's many subgenres eventually came metal).

Edit: to avoid another pointless argument, lets say I meant metal and hard/heavy rock.

Elvis influenced the creation of rock, he didn't invent it - and his music wasn't rock.
Ide class elvis as inventing it, he set out the main foundations for the genre. Without him there wouldn't have been them, therefore no rock.

Elvis is rock personified. Just because you hear "rock" and think "hard rock" don't make it so.
