Every time he shows up on a TV screen my mom and sister mention how attractive he is. I think I'll take their word.

Are you sure? I don't remember, I never really watched it (we were on a long trip and my sister had it on a portable DVD player and I saw it over her shoulder), but I remember an awful lot of people trying to drag him off to a psych hospital.

Meh, I wouldn't have sexual relations with him.

Naw, his brother in law can't see them, and he keeps pressuring him to sell the farm because he wasted all his money on the baseball field, but then after one of the players saves Costner's daughter's life, he can see them.

... I'm glad to hear it?

And he doesn't, y'know, charge people to use his snazzy new ball field? I'm sure he could get a couple tournaments in or something. Hell, my sister's played at a (softball) tournament where the fields were smack-dab in the middle of a cornfield.

Apparently it was hot and miserable. No shade at all.

He kind of does that in the end. He charges people to watch his ghosts. I think. It was kind of vague, what happened. Kind of exploitiary. Is that a word?

I dunno. Is Iowa hot?

Incidentally, the Ashes series is on. We're not doing the best, but this partnership we've got now seems to be holding it together quite well. We'll still probably lose or draw this test though.

I find that highly amusing. Come one, come all! The restless shades of dead men whack around the restless shade of cow bits and some plant products wrapped up in a ball shape with the also-restless shade of a poor, mutilated tree.

I honestly have no idea. I guess it is in the summer.

I'm sorry.

That's really the only part of the movie that doesn't make sense.

Is it on ESPN or something? You should try to catch it if you can.
Walker

The ghost-baseball-players do make sense?

Probably not. I've never seen cricket on the TV here, but who knows? I never expected to see AFL either.

Everything else makes a lot of sense. Except it's a little confusing, as to whether James Earl Jones is alive or dead.

I wouldn't both looking right now, because it just finished. Australia suck, and need to bring Shane Warne out of retirement, give him the captaincy and get rid of Ricky Ponting.

Next test starts December 16th though.

I'm pretty sure that James Earl Jones is alive. Just FYI.

Aww. I'm sad. Fun fact for you, though: bringing people out of retirement rarely ends well. Sure, you might get a few games out of them, but then they break their hip and end up sitting in a hospital bed telling the whippersnappers how everything was better in their day.

Naw, but his character. You're silly.

Nah, Warnies only been retired a couple of years, and he still plays low level cricket (as far as I know). But even if he doesn't bowl a lot, he'd still make a better captain, and we'd do a hell of a lot better in the field.

He should have been made captain when he was playing, but he enjoyed hot tub parties with strippers, and that would have been bad for our image.
Walker

I see.

I hate to tell you this, but Australia doesn't have an image, an what image it has would not be hurt by stripper hot-tub-parties.

I know, but Cricket Australia is gey.
Arseface
Arseface
But he was married at the time, so that's the main issue, methinks.
Walker

Good thing no one cares about it, eh?

Yeah, I can see how that would hurt. Welll.... was his wife there? I mean, if it was a hot-tub-and-stripper-AND-wife party, then it's just good times all around.

Arseface
If by no one, you mean quite a lot, then yes.

No, she only found out because she went through his text messages. Doing that, though, she probably deserved it.

Australian cricket? Trust me, only Australians care about the Aussie cricket team, and there aren't all that many of you.

He didn't even invite her? How rude.
Arseface

When Warnie was playing, we had one of the best teams in cricket, EVER. It mattered to more than just Australians, mostly the country we were playing at the time.
Walker

I would argue that point. Just because, say, the New England Patriots are a good team doesn't mean that anyone cares about them but their fans.

Sure, we might talk about them when we're playing, but what of it? We talk about dog **** when we step in it, too.
