Wow. Awesome, awesome thread. Very few people know that I'm a huge Bond guy. I don't hide it, it just never comes up in conversation.
I have not seen Skyfall. Yet. But I will. I was disappointed by the last couple films. I didn't think Craig had what it took to be a Bond. Maybe that'll turn around, I'm hoping so. But I was more disappointed by the dismantling of franchise traditions. No Q. Or R even. No martini, shaken, not stirred. No Moneypenny. Product placement like whoa, which was a thing in Brosnan's last few Bond films but these newer ones have redefined extreme with how they do this. The past traditions are mocked even, "you're the money" "worth every penny", rageragerage. But then I heard Q is coming back, and Bond is getting his signature weapon back too. And cheez promises it's da shizzle. So definitely something for me to check out.
Side note, Brosnan forreals #1. After that I'd go with Dalton. To me, Dalton was the first realistic sort of Bond, he would get his butt kicked, a lot. Roger Moore could fight a ten fem fatale ninjas while sipping on sake commenting on how it's the correct temperature. Sean Connery could smoke three bullet cigarettes at the same time and kill four people with them. And... I don't think anyone liked Lazenby. He was so bad they brought back Connery. Just not my cup of tea. I like to see my heroes get beaten to hell, otherwise I'll just go watch Superman throw everything bad into the sun.
