A Tree as tall as it could be

There was a tree
As tall as it could be.
It was surrounded by plains and flowers it knew for centuries
It was in this place by the first year
Then the second year came

Nothing happened

Then the third year came

Nothing happened

Then the fourth year came

There was a man with a scruffy beard and walked up to the tree
He sniffed the flowers the tree always knew
Then he said, " This looks like the perfect spot!"
He left

Then the fifth year came

Nothing happened

Then the sixth year came

Monster machines came roaring towards the tree.
They crushed the flowers the tree once knew
They hid the plain the tree once lived
But they left the tree

Then the seventh year came

The giant monsters made colossal pillars with glass
They hid the land the tree had lived for centuries
but they did not harm the tree

Then the eighth year came

All the tree knew was gone
There were no more plains or flowers
It was all cement

Then the ninth year came

The tree was ignored

Then the tenth year came

Nothing happened

Then the eleventh year came

Nothing happened

Then the twelfth year came

A man with no scruffy beard at all looked at the tree
and admired it......
