Do you heal the dog or left him injure

Often i left him injure since i rather play the game without that stupid distraction. Its not a suprise for anyone who ever co-play with me, that i hate the dog. i said it before, i don't see the use of the dog or the fascination with it.
I really hope in fable 3, Peter Molyneux put a real options not to use the dog, left him injure is not really playing the game without the dog. I think it's unfair for those like me. who want the dog.

Yeah, I didn't feel as if it were a distraction, but it did kinda get annoying when he barked for dig-spots every 10 seconds. Other than that it was okay to have around but I never really felt attached at all.
