I'm afraid that the game has built the wrong kind of fan-base,
Could a possible cause of this be the switch from "action-adventure RPG" to more action-adventure with RPG elements?

Re: Fable 3 Doubts?

If Molyneux and his teams don't have the time/resources to add things that aren't important to the story, or the gameplay, then I don't care.

I'm just hoping for a better story this time around, bigger end boss. A one hit-kill at the end of the game wasn't fun. And Reaver was the one that fired.

Although, reading through the achievements list there IS something that promises some good things in this area...

Re: Fable 3 Doubts?

i wonder how long the game can possibly go once your king. Ya you can go to war, upgrade, and put people in dungeons but at some point soon when you become king it will be repetetive.

I completely agree.

I'm still concerned they're moving too far from the fantasy setting Fable TLC had. Fable 2 was tolerable but Fable 3 looks a bit grim.

Re: Fable 3 Doubts?

I'm concerned about many things including the things you guys are mentioning. I'm probably most concerned with the removal of the Fable I & II leveling systems and think the new change was unnecessary. Additionally, my second biggest concern is regarding this new non-menu UI. Frankly, I don't believe it will work effectively and might ruin the immersion and accessibility. Lastly, I do dislike the whole distancing itself from RPG elements, in general, that REALLY has me concerned.

Re: Fable 3 Doubts?

The thing I am scared about is after you become king, there's barely any footage showing you as the monarch and the things you can do, I don't want it to have a brilliant story and gameplay, but then all of a sudden, when becoming king, it will be repetative and will be as long as the fable II DLC's combined,

What I want is balance, lets have 15 hours of main story, then 15 hours of kingship

good were on the same page but there needs to be like not 15 hours but a whole game before king and whole game as king. Is that asking to much? Seriously is it?

15 hours is the average time completion of a video game, I just meant I want equal time as prince and monarch

And I agree with you. It seems a little two far from the future. The fantasy / pure fiction from fable 1 is gone, but they may make a new fable with the newer graphics/ engine in the time of heroes. They should also maybe in the future of th fanchise do more than co-op. Have 4-8 with diablo like servers

15 hours for fable sounds horrible. Oblivion had like 4 times that. And yes i know you said thats the average time.

you could pretty much beat oblivion in 3-4 hours with fast travel

on doing the main quest ONLY

i actually think that is how its going to be, i heard it takes about 25 hours to become king (i don't know if thats taking the time to open all the road to rule chest or not) and I saw many videos where they say thats only half of the game.

also i just had a thought. they say at the end of the road to rule thing where you go through the gates, that the last gate is the part of the game where you become king or queen. so i guess you don't need to worry about not having all your content unlocked until the VERY end of the game.

All I'm concerned with is losing my dog at the end if i make a good character, and having actual boss fights.

We still know absolutely nothing about what we do with Aurora. For all we know it's going to take another 15+ hours to deal with that half of the story. Then there's the side quests to take into account, the time we spent making our heroes aesthetically pleasing, buying houses for teh moneys and incomes, and lest we forget the number of characters most of us will make. I personally have made 4 for each game, 1 for each of the skills [focusing on it mainly] and then a jack-of-all-trades kind of character.

It's not like Lionhead are going to disappoint everyone. They still have Molyneux behind the project. He's the most motivated and excited developer ever, and he actually listens to his fans. Unlike SEGA.

Re: Fable 3 Doubts?

thats very true, also i saw on youtube that they said every npc in the game will have a side quest for you if you build up your relationship enough with them (probably like how you got gifts from people in F2)
but i also heard that some of them can be very simple tasks

If that's true, do you think the side-quests would be randomly generated, or just have a whole bunch of them pre-created?

Re: Fable 3 Doubts?

I am worried that the game will have a definate cut to credits ending, you know, without the post-storyline free-roam. I have this horrible feeling I heard it did.

i doubt that, they haven't done that in any fables yet and with all the possible customization i am sure they wont make the game end, i don't need evidence to be 100% sure of that, so don't worry broseph :p
