Fable walk through pt. 1

WARNING: this is an entire guide to part one of Fable The Lost Chapters. By reading this you kill the excitement of beating the game on your own.. you have been warned...
this is 1 of 4
note: this is based on Xbox controls but just simply convert to the pc controls =D

Guild Training -:

Wake up, and talk to the Guildmaster at the Combat Ring now. He'll give you
your first sword (yay), and give you some nice instructions - try and hit
Whisper. You can hit her once, then use Flourish a couple times, get some
Strength exp from Whisper's sorry face. Now, block her seven times - not hard,
just hold down Y. Now he wants you to combine them - still simple, just hit and
block her a couple times. Now for your Archery training - I like the method of
clicking down on the left thumbstick, then holding down X for a while, and
shooting the dummies in the back. Don't bother with hitting the first one,
that'll get you nowhere. It's easy to get scores of 400-450 in the Archery
tests by hitting them at key moments. Nothing really to walk through here, just
keep going. Now for Will. Wait for the Guildmaster to get over to the island,
and start using your willpower. Simple job here - hold down right trigger, and
then press X, then press left trigger to get a target on a dummy. To get the
most in the test, hold down both triggers and X, and storm through the dummies
once, then wait for them to turn back, then do it again...over and over, you
can get about 20 in half a minute. Not bad, eh? --BE SURE to do this-- Don't
advance on quite yet, do the three trainers in the skills - Melee, Archery, and
Will - and get some sweet rewards from them. Use my above tips. Another BE
SURE, is don't equip them yet or anything - sell them after you've completed
your training, because you'll need to use the weapons the Guildmaster gave you
to defeat Maze in your final test. Now go into the Guild Woods, if you want.
Not necessary to do this, but it's fun. Play with Whisper? Yay. Buuut those
darn Bandits are always crashing the party... I found it pretty easy to hide
behind a rock and pick 'em off with the bow. Now your final test awaits. Like I
said before, make sure you have the Yew Longbow and Iron Longsword the
Guildmaster gave you. It's easy enough to do - Go to the Guild Woods, hit Maze
seven times with your Longsword, hit him seven times with the bow, and hit him
with lightning for seven seconds. Come out of the woods. Congratulations,
you're a hero. Watch the little cutscene of the graduation, and you be done
with the training. Learn about the experience portal, and the map table.

Wasp Menace -:

Take the Wasp Menace quest card from the map. Head through the door, to Lookout
Point. Remember to follow the gold Quest Markers, as the Guildmaster tells you
about 50 times in the course of the game. Get to the Picnic Area (a guy'll run
with you, lead you to it) Kill all the wasps attacking the people, and the Wasp
Queen will appear. Use your bow (only magic if you're a good mage already - the
bow is far more efficent). Be sure to pick up some of the apples and pies
around the tables, to heal yourself if you are hurt. Going back to the Heroes
Guild, you'll meet one of another of the most anonying people - Briar Rose.

Maze's Information -:

This one's simple - Go to Bowerstone South (north from Lookout Point), to the
tavern, and talk to Maze, who's in front of the tavern. This is a great
oppurtunity to look around Bowerstone South, however. So get your hero pimp'd
out, and get some side quests from Bowerstone. Thunder's there, for your third
Hero sighting in 2 minutes.

Protect/Attack Orchard Farm -:

Go to the Heroes Guild, and take this quest card. Head on down through Lookout
Point, Greatwood Entrance, Greatwood Lake, and finally to the Orchard Farm.
Orchard Farm's a pretty cool place - there's a Treasure Clue, and a lot of
quests happen around here. Anyway, the object of this quest is to protect these
mysterious bricks - you can't let the bandits get away with them. The best bet
is to use a melee weapon or your magic, I found trying to pick off bandits with
the bow didn't work nearly as well. Still worked. But anyway, again. Just keep
three rounds of three bandits from running off with those bricks, and you've
got a nice 750 gold in your pack. Dig and fish around in Orchard Farm, you
never know what you'll find. Now Whisper will confront you. The easiest way to
defeat her (again...and again, it seems like) is to hit her a couple times with
your normal melee attack, and get the Flourish symbol. Then lay the hurt on
that annoying woman.

Also, for attacking Orchard Farm, go the same route and everything, just go
with your bandit cronies and hold the guards off for long enough for them to
run away with them. It's slightly harder, but there's more pay, if you're an
evil dude. And Whisper's hat is mysteriously missing.

Trader Escort -:

Travel through Greatwood (it's one way except for Rose Cottage after you get to
Greatwood Gorge, don't worry about directions) to the Darkwood Entrance. Here
you'll meet two Traders, and they need escorted to Barrow Fields. This is your
first big adventure quest, so have fun. So, you've got some followers. You can
tell them to wait at various points in the journey, it's quite helpful. So, not
too far off from your start, you'll see this dude, who just got owned by a
Balverine. One of two outcomes; let him stay, nothing happens, you get some
evil points. Let him follow, you get some good points, but he does indeed turn
into a Balverine later. So it's your call. Next you go into the Darkwood
Marshes. If you want to do the Demon Door's challenge, make sure you have the
Traders following you wait a while away - trying to kill the Hobbes will
destroy your own guys far too easily. Now you'll come along these
mushroom-looking things, you'll see them later in the game as well. I don't
know the name of them, but they can be annoying, as you know if you stepped on
to one by accident already. Pick them off from afar with your bow or magic, and
continue on to the Darkwood Lake. Here's where it gets a bit challenging. You
might want to have the Traders wait up by the north gate while you pick off
Bandits. Get through to the Darkwood Camp, a nice place for your Trader buddies
and yourself to rest for a while and heal. When you're ready, continue on to
the Ancient Cullis Gate, kill more Bandits (and Hobbes at the end), and on to
the Darkwood Weir, where you are almost done. Of course, your buddy, the Trader
you picked up at the beginning, turns into a Balverine. Dispose of your former
buddy (what a shame...but you'll have to move on...it's okay to cry), and get
to to the end of the region, where you'll get your first look at what will be
an intimidating enemy at first...a troll. No, not the message board kind of
troll, but a big, ugly, green Earth troll. They're really quite easy to beat,
however. Get up close, hit him a couple of times with your weapon, then press Y
and roll back while it does a ground attack. Wash, rinse, and most importantly,
repeat. Continue on through the exit, and you and your friends are finally safe
and done. Don't be frustrated, it takes a while to get into a rhythm, and he
takes forever to kill as a low level character. But you are done with one of
the longest quests in the game - pat yourself on the back. And on a side note,
don't worry if one of your original Trader guys takes an unfortunate fall (at
least in the original - dunno if they fixed it in TLC), you can complete the
quest with one Trader.

Maze's New Information -:

Continue through from the last quest, into Oakvale, from Barrow Fields. Hey,
this looks FAMILIAR. Yes, it's the same old Oakvale...well, it has a couple
additions on there, like the cemetary. And there's some side quests worth
checking out...and a couple of great shops. You can also buy your old home.
You'll see the girl who lost the teddy bear, and you'll be surrounded by
flaming houses...what a trip, eh? Well, go talk to Maze and do this. It's
pretty easy. Press A. >.>

He'll tell you about the Blind Seeress, who lives in Twinblade's Bandit Camp.
She could tell you about your sister, possibly. Twinblade is the King of
Bandits, a former Hero. Go back to the Guild when you want to take the quest,
but for now, I recommend checking out Oakvale.

Find the Bandit Seeress -:

Start this quest by taking the Quest Card, then going to Oakvale. Head through
the west region exit from Oakvale, but before doing so, you may want to take
the Assassin Boots from the chest to the left of the Clifftop Path entrance.
They can help you get through the next region, which is quite difficult to get
through without knowing how. Watch the cutscene with the Guildmaster's tips on
how to get through. So, how to get in? Unless you're incredibly good at
sneaking already, kill all the Bandits here. Go behind the large rock to the
left and way in front of the entrance. Wait for all three Bandits to come out,
then when the third one starts to walk away, quickly sneak around the rock, and
make a run for the entrance. Next you'll come to the Abandoned Road. Here,
you'll have to collect the five pieces of Bandit Armor required to get into
Twinblade's Camp. It's not great armor, and makes you really unattractive, so
you probably won't have any other use for it after this. The little cutscene
will play, and then the Bandits will be after you. You will fight a LOT of
Bandits this level, but they're all pretty easy. Be sure to look in all of the
chests along the way for the five pieces of Bandit Armor and a Resurrection
Phial, then get through the region exit. Talk to the Bandit there when you're
wearing the Bandit suit, and then take it off and change back into whatever you
want. To get further, you'll need a Bandit Camp Pass - there are a couple ways
to do this. Talk to the Bandit by the bar to buy one for 1000 gold; beat the
tavern game Guess the Addition, use the Slow Time spell if necessary. Or, kill
either one of the two guys. If you're an evil dude, you can buy a full set of
Dark Plate, Chainmail, Leather, Villager, or Assassin armor here. Here you go
into Twinblade Elite's Camp. To get through this gate, no pass or outfit will
do - you need a distraction to get rid of the guards. You can do this one of
two ways - one, pay off the Assassins to create a distraction ; two, kill the
Bandit keeping the hostages under lock and key, and then free them. Either one
works, but the second one is easy and free. Now, once the gate is open, go to
Twinblade's Tent. Boss fight! To beat Twinblade, wait until he tries to hit you
and gets his blades stuck in the ground. Then, hit him from behind as many
times as possible, and dodge until he does it again. After you defeat him
temporarily, as you're about to kill him...OMGWTFBBQ it's your sister. So,
she's the Blind Seeress. Damn Twinblade cut her eyes out! Anyway, listen to her
stuff, and you can do one of two things. Well, first off, raid everything at
the camp. But then you can do one of two things - kill Twinblade (evil, and the
Bandits attack you), or leave him (good points). Congrats, you finished the
quest. Go rest up at the Guild (or the Bordello) and prepare for your next
quests.
