Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

I have been working on fixing Frostmourne so I can release it (giving credit to the creators morerunes and jojjo of course) to everyone.

I did a cheap fix on it, but it works, the only thing is when your in a cutscene, where the screen zooms further away from the hero than your game movement cam, The LOD 3 (I think) image of frostmourne shows up instead of the way it is supposed to look, since i do not know how to fix the missing LODs, all i did was add the texture, link the mesh, and resize it in the float(Scale) so it looks right. Thats all, like it said, its cheap but it works.

However.... there is one thing I could not fix and I am calling out to a kind modder with experience in modeling who can help me out.

1.) - The sword is held on the wrong side, and I have no idea how to fix this, If you could tell me how, that would be EXCELLENT.

Screenshot:

and 2.) If you could also tell me how to replace the meshes to fix the missing LOD 3 and improper LOD 1 and 2 (LOD 0 is perfect therefore needs no fix) that would be superb.

I will release the Fix to the public when Step 1 is completed (im not patient enough for step 2 unless someone answers that right away) And then I will edit the fix and posted fix file when step 2 is done if it happens at a later stage.

Thank you :D

Re: Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

First of all, I don't see what you mean by it being held backwards, looks fine to me

Second, the whole reason it needs a fix is that I couldn't get the LOD1 and LOD2 working (LOD3 is always blank for everything, just leave it). In theory, you should be able to click "Load LOD" and choose the mesh (which you could export from LOD0), then give it a material (via the material tab), but FE kept crashing when I did that, so good luck to you.

Re: Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

1st thing, I DID NOT make it, i just fixed it up a cheap way so it could be used while still being able to see the proper texture.

2nd: you can use Blender to make weapon models (meshes)

for morerunes, I dont mean to be picky, the way u made it looks fine, but since im gonna fix it i want it to be held right, the jagged side of the sword is supposed to be facing outwards, so im gonna be stingy about it and want to fix it.

Yeah, I tried to fix it as well. It would just crash FE and Cbox. Ah, oh well.

Re: Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

yeah, applying the same mesh in LOD 0 to LOD's 1,2, and 3 crashed my FE as well. Why the hell won't it accept it?

I'm not sure. Maybe I'll try loading it into 3ds, saving it as a .3ds file, then loading it and exporting it as a different mesh. Probably won't have any effect whatsoever, but hey, why the hell not?

Bah, it didn't work out. Oh foo.

I'll try it later I guess. When I get home. Maybe I'll try importing it and then editing something, or resetting the helpers etc. And then reimporting it. It's worth a shot anyways.

Re: Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

Yea, if any of that doesnt work, just give up on it, the fix i made is good enough, screw fixing the LODs. All I need fixed is the way it is held, The Sword NEEDS to be rotated either left or right (doesnt matter) by 180 Degrees so the jagged part of the blade is facing outwards.

Perhaps morerunes can help me with that? that would be very nice, even if you told me how to do it and I did it myself would suffice. Or anyone else.

Re: Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

If I have time. I have quite a bit of homework to do so far when I get home, so I probably won't get much accomplished today. I also have to work on texturing my own model, and figuring out how to map a symmetrical object only on one side and apply it to the other to save UVW mapping space. Then I might try some things to get it working.

Re: Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

Open the frostmourne .x file and (near the bottom) replace this:

Code:
Frame HDMY_WEAPON_FOCUS_01 {

   FrameTransformMatrix {
    0.999900,-0.010180,-0.009781,0.000000,0.009584,-0.019273,0.999768,0.000000,-0.010367,-0.999762,-0.019174,0.000000,0.034849,10.438524,0.327652,1.000000;;
   }
  }

With this:

Code:
Frame HDMY_WEAPON_FOCUS_01 {

    FrameTransformMatrix {
      -1.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,-0.000000,-0.000000,-1.000000,0.000000,0.000000,-1.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,11.821400,0.000000,1.000000;;
    }
  }

Then save it

Re: Frostmourne Fix Nearly finished!

it crashes FE when i try loading the fixed .x into LOD 0

EDIT: Well, Im sure I loaded it properly this time, loaded it, put in the base texture id and max texture layers, and theres really no change to the way it is held. Tried doing it again and it crashed my FE

Heres the link to my fix.fmp if you wanna try doing it yourself.
