Gaming in 2009

Just wanted to know what was the forums favourite and least favourite games of 2009 (do not forget about those early year games)

Personally I love Halo but found Halo 3: ODST to be a major disappointment
I bought Assassins Creed 2 on release date and was proud to spend the money I did and was in love with the graphics and the fact that you were in the Renaissance era (I love history so this was a bonus)

I have yet to pick up Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands or Dragon Age Origins but I hope to get these for Christmas

Modern Warfare 2: meh
Left 4 Dead 2: very meh
Halo: ODST: meh
Borderlands: ok
Assassins creed 2: good

Modern Warfare 2 - Thrilling single player and a rollercoaster ride though shortlived. Shall be playing the multiplayer for a very long time though, utterly addictive.

Halo ODST - New take on the Halo franchise from a different viewpoint, good story and good co-op. Brought new life into Halo 3 and i enjoyed it.

Fifa 10 - Best football ever made with everything improved upon, great sports title.

Assassins Creed 2 - Fantastic title, everything from the first improved upon and truly captivating story. Really enjoyed playing it and didnt want it to end.

I will add more later.

Games id like to get next are Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands.

Modern Warfare 2 - The campaign was way to short but it was probably the most fun I've had in a campaign in a while. Also, a very good story if you look beyond the whole 'Hollywood' of it.

ODST - I can't say I liked it much. Got boring quickly and firefight failed. If it had an online multiplayer, It would have been so much better. Wtf were Bungie thinking?

Tekken 6 - It's HD Tekken. What's not to love? Online is epic as well.

Left 4 Dead 2 - Sucks. I hate this crap.

Cod Mod 2: Awesome - really thrilling story, spec ops. is a great co-op parts of the game, and mulitplayer is really addictive.
Halo Odst: Interesting take on the Halo universe, fun single player, but very short, not much replayability, firefight was ok but nowhere as fun as Horde.

Have yet to get AC 2, but I didn't care for the first AT ALL.
Borderlands doesnt seem like my sort of game. Can't wait for Bioshock 2 though!

MW2: Boring, easy achievements.
DAO: Epic game, best rpg of the year, BLOOD.
AC2: Best game in the whole world, amazing graphics, story and everything.

From what I've seen for L4D2 its basically just new skins and a few additions from the first one
although the new infected is cool

I know this is going to seem odd, but... My worst game of 09 is MW2. Why? Well, the campaign was great, but the online is just... No. Unbalanced. Too many features over balance, badly designed maps, and overall, I just don't like it.

Best game... Well, I don't have a best game. I can't remember any games that I've played from 2009.

Best game for me in 09: MW2 for the multiplayer and the return of the Red Dawn syndrome.

Worst game (That I have played) Uncharted 2.

Tip of my hat: Bungie, ODST was great, but you could have done alot more with it, still it deserves this spot for the Noir Jazz and the ODSTism

Wag of my finger: Nintendo, you seriosuly didn't even produce 2 million "Super Mario Brothers Wii" knowing Mario is your biggest series and you have ALOT of Wii owners? Seriously, I went to the store for it, too five (GameStop/Funcoland, EB games, Best Buy, Hollywood Video/Game Crazy and Wal Mart) diff stores and they were ALL sold out, and later I check to find it only sold close too 2 million in its first weekend?

Best game: So far IT's AC2 closely followed by halo odst. I still want to play brutal legend and MW2 though, so I have yet to decide. Fable pwns them all though.......


Yes I know fable 2 is only 2008 but it was close enough in my opinion), it was released at the very end of 2008.

I need Brutal Legend, Saboteur and AC2 this year for me too feel good. Otherwise I feel like a wannabe gamer.

I forgot Batman. That game was the shiz. ODST is awesome, I recently rewatched Blade Runner, sparking my ODSTism off again.

For me, Dragon Age Origins was my favorite game of this year. ( plus, for the next 2 years they are gunna continue to release DLC ) and Fable 2 GOTY Edition was my second favorite.

halo 3: odst - did not buy, and am glad of it. it was virtually no different from halo 3, and the achievements were too hard.

assassins creed 2 - still have yet to play it. i have heard good things, mainly ones that replace everything i didn't like about the first. blockbuster is in my future.

modern warfare 2 - call of duty and me have a bad history. i disliked all call of duty games after the second, and this one is no exception. 2/5

l4d2 - they made no changes to the graphics or engine, only added new characters, levels, zombies and weapons. it could have been dlc, but it was sold for 59.99 at the retailers. l4d2 is thumbs down from me. 1/5

borderlands - should be nominated for game of the year. i absolutely loved it. lack of story aside, this is the best game i've played in 2k9 thus far. 4/5

dragon age: origins - have not played, sounds like a lesser oblivion from what i've heard. ?/5

No, its a Action/adventure type rpg type game lol. and more tactical aswell.
