Idea

Im not sure if this is the games real site but I have an Idea involving some old characters which were chosen because of the role they played and how we think the hero was in fable thanks to fable 2 hints for example.

We think he chose to be good because Theresa is still alive.

We know that the Hero of Oakvale (the hero we play as in Fable) married and had kids or else Rose and the Hero of Bowerstone (the hero we play as in Fable 2) Would of never been born.

We also know he chose to turn in Elvira Grey because of how we find her body torn into peaces in the quest Love Hurts (In Fable 2).

last we can rule out he married whisper as she went back to her home land while the Hero of Oakvale stayed
The biggest clue to this is the statement of the property info of Serenity Farm saying
The most skilled Will users of the once-mighty Heroes' Guild fashioned this idyllic house and its surroundings as a haven from the real world. It is said that many great Heroes, including the one who vanquished Jack of Blades, spent their last years in this retreat. in fable 2

Now for those of you still here you deserve a cookie and my idea.
We finally meet the wife of the Hero of Oakvale. Don't worry she isn't some random crazy person shes one of the first characters we meet in Fable being she was a friend of the Hero of Oakvale from his child hood. Shes Emily you saved her teddy bear and she survived the Oakvale raid.

How did she live this long?
When the Hero of Oakvale married her, He knew she couldn't live as long as him so he gave her a Potion of immorality So she could live for ever there child however was only half immortal so he could still die of sickness our murder (so sadly we won't see him because at the age of 29 he was shot in the head trying to Steal from a stall). This makes it so he could of had a family and still not appear in fable 3 while keeping the hero blood line alive. the Hero of Oakvale died for some unknown reason by age even though most hero's live forever.

Emily tells you all this when you first meet her in a quest (I cant really make it for it would be a little tricky) She tells you the story and explains your family past (for those who ever played the first Fable or Fable TLC). She also says how shes happy she finally found a relative after years of searching. She also Will give you Some Armour from the Hero of Oakvale that he got while on his journeys and she restored them.
Thunder's Helmet for males or Whisper's Broach for females
they both give the same stats
and a melee weapon
Thunder's Sword for males or Whisper's Spear for females
same stats again

These are good items and are Classed as Legendary sadly there the weakest legendary in Fable 3.

Re: Idea

Not a bad idea, I wouldn't go for it personally because saying all that takes away choice. If you read the books about the heros and such throughout Fable 2 you will notice how vague the actual stories are, this is because there was still choices that you could have made and there are explanations that may undermine those such as Teresa was stabbed and thrown into the vortex but upon a series of events found a way to come back. The power of the vortex could be used to explain Teresa's magical powers that were absent during the first Fable. Also at the end of Fable 2, if you choose to save your family you will get a note from Rose specifying that a hooded man was with her.
Over speculation you will note that too many fable fans will argue between Jack of Blades or the Hero, both of which would disprove your theory in the beginning. We all know that the hero defeats the Jack of Blades. If we assume that he chose the path of good in Fable we must also assume he chose the path of good in TLC. In TLC the path of good means destroying Jack and throwing the mask into the vortex, defeating Jack, that would make the hooded man the hero, meaning that his inevitable death would be forfeit. If we assume otherwise than that means the hero put the mask on making the hooded man Jack, still making his death forfeit.

Taking into account that a normal person is not immortal we can assume this: only hero's that amass great power become immortal. That would explain why most hero's, accept for a few named hero's are dead. Now if the hero chose the path of good and defeated the jack of blades we are to assume the hooded man is the hero. Though we can also assume he is Jack. If he is Jack than the hero chose the evil side which means Teresa was thrown into the void. If Teresa amassed power from the Void it may explain her immortality.

My idea is instead of having Emily be the bearer of the weapons, let it be the hooded man whether it is Jack or the Hero. Let them not say they are related to you since saying so would possibly create an absence of choice though at the same time create an air of familiarity to the being. If the Hero defeated Jack than he would have amassed great power and become immortal, if not he is Jack.

Considering the amount of choice given in fable, you must assume that the Wife of the Hero could be anyone or perhaps even a man for some to did so. You must realize that because of that choice, the wife would not only be too vague but also not familiar enough for the fans to become attracted. But if you add a pinch of ominousness and a dash of familiarity than cover it with a veil and secrets, than not only will that person be intriguing but also be a face that the people would want to see more of. Make them mysterious and fans won't help but want to know more about this person. Who he really is.
As for the whole family but, throughout Fable 2 it is too vague to assume your even related to the Oakvale Hero though 100% of the fans would agree you are. If you notice that lionhead made it a point to stray from that idea. Letting you create your own character rather than live in the shadow of the old hero. I assume that they will do the same for Fable 3 so the idea of bringing a character like that in would be unthinkable for them. Giving the character a concrete background is the last thing that lionhead would do. They want to keep things vague so that you are focused on your characters future rather than dwelling into their past.

Re: Idea

Not bad at all, but here's how I see it:
Hero was mostly good, but had a few exceptions.
Married Lady Grey out of interest, but had a romance with Emiliy (who died normally) resulting in a child. This allows the Hero to get all the Legendary weapons canonically, and also opened the Demon Doors and got all the Silver Keys.
Later he allowed Whisper to live, she became the ancestor of Garth.
Hero died around the age of 150.

Re: Idea

anyone mind me pointing out all it says is he vanquished jack of blades meaning it could be the first archon: william black also referred to as vanquishing jack in some of the books meaning the hero may not still be in albion also another common assumption is that the hooded man is scythe due to the description of him being very thin fitting scythe as he is slowly wasting away also it is almost certain scythe is immortal if he is william black. so it could be scythe who gives you items as your idea is actually very good if you dont look to far into it :)

Also expanding on your idea we know that the hero of bowerstone must have had a wife and you could have it be her not the hero of oakvales as thinking back to the dissapearing spouse glitch maybe we findout where she went XD

sorry one final point weapon wise how about avo's tear? As if you were good which is considered canon you obtain it in the dlc and as it is likely indestructible could be discovered by the new hero still i very much like your idea but as i remember thunders sword was just a normal master greatsword so it may not be much of a legendary
