when you rent out a house you get rent (about every few minutes according to the users manuel) even when you arent playing, does the wrk the same for collecting profit from shops you own?

yes, renting houses works the same as buying shops.

Base pay for me is 121, and then its multiplied by your gold multiplier. and it seems like thats the way the mini games are, tho the wood cutting one is easy.
