... Then comes a guy named Carl Johnson and tells you to hop into his car. Where he drives the hero in a place where they have to make a deal.

Seriously, Fable isn't for modern-time games. The name itself says that. It's about Fables, folklore, nice stories and bad stories. There are a lot of games that cover the story of a modern-time hero that lives in a modern city. Few are the games that talk about old times in an Action-RPG way as Fable does. That makes Fable unique in its genre.

That's her thing.
The game is called Fable for a reason though, it's set in the past.

THIS.

I really wasn't keen on the shift from the medieval fantasy setting to the enlightenment setting, admitted Lionhead pulled it off, but I still prefer the 'magic' of the original games. I would hate for what's left of the fantasy setting to be lost.

I doubt that they will remove the fantasy that's into Fable. That's what made Fable what it is. Even when Albion changes epoch, you can feel the fantasy that's into it.

Because, Fable is based mostly on folklore, fables and such things that can be used up to a certain epoch. Because after a point, the fantasy you want to have will disappear at a certain epoch.

Well, as it seems Fable III will be the final Fable game. So, my hopes are that it will be good as in lore and fantasy.

Apparently Mr. Muffin hasn't seen Man vs. Wild. Don't try to tell me you don't think Bear Grylls is at least 3/86 hero.

Actually PM said he has plans to make the Fable series to go all the way up to at least a Fable 5. (It might have been a 4 instead of a 5 but at least a 4) How will they pull this off since we have already did most era that involve "fantasy?" I don't know. Maybe they will create new setting, new countrys, hell maybe even a new world! (aliens come and accept our way of life n they will be aliens with us like the movie district 9)

Fable is Fable, doesn't matter what time period it's in as long you got hobbes, goblins, bandits, and balverines it's still Fable.

I wouldn't want to see it in our time period here, but I think a WWII Fable could work extremely well. Imagine, hobbes with WWII military helmets and mousers.

I don't think so. In a recent interview he stated that they are going to point new ideas and move forward, with something new. I also doubt there will be Aliens in a Fable game. Ever.

A juxtaposition, would be interesting prehaps a WWI setting with swords & bolt action rifles at the same time.

Yes the Great War is almost entirely overlooked in modern culture and it would be quite interesting if it were added to the Fable canon. However how would it work? In my opinion the series should never go past 1919, I mean buying cloche hats and dancing the charleston do not blend well with Fable.

Re: Modern day Hero

Hmm well It would be cool to see the Bowerstone Market clock evolved into a Big Ben type monument, aswell as hobbes with brodie helmets that would be sweet. Those are among a few of the things that could be implemented into a WWI era based fable.

As for a modern day Fable however, I can't really say that I am partial to the concept of a hero with an M16 to be honest. It might not work, but then again I could be wrong.

It possible like you said "they are going to point new ideas and move forward, with something new" Aliens is pretty damn new haha. It possible but it's prob not going happen like you said hence the "" Even if we do somehow pull off new fables its most likely going to be new situations, new places (Countrys) even a new world(Aliens but thats like very, vary , VARY last resort) etc. etc. Will it go as extreme to like WWI or watev? I doubt it but then again who know. If we were to do a WWI style it would be a Fable WWI style with rifles, cannons, swords; Prob like a Light vs Dark style battle with the humans with light and the hobgoblins and monster on the dark and the hero get to choose which side to join like the Oakfeild quest between light temple and shadow temple. I apologized that im straying off, Im just saying watever come to my mind

When he said he might make games up until Fable 5, he meant that he would have most of those games take place back in the Old Kingdom, or some other time that we have not played in yet.
