The game is great, but their approach to bug-solving has got to be among the worst in the industry.

lol wow why do they bother than? i dont know anything about bugs and software but this is just one bug so why wewd it take that long? they supposedly fixed hundreds of them in two months so wtf

Yeah, but if you go to the list of all of the bugs that they are working on, you should notice that there are tons of bugs that aren't adressed. If they're giving themselves almost two months to fix the bugs, they should fix all of them. (Or at least all of the ones that keep you from beating the game/getting 100%).

The more complex a game is, the more complex the bugs. A game works by asking questions and giving answers accordingly. Each question determines what will happen when. An RPG has many of these questions that interact with each other. Therefore, the glitches can be difficult to fix because the programming must be modified throughout the entire game because every area affects ever other area. The entire engine may need to be reviewed to repair complex glitches, such as these.

It's not just one bug. There are a lot of bugs that slipped through into the final game. A good number of them are game-breakers, too.
