I did use a program to translate it, but I can translate binary into text, and text into binary manually, if I wish.
It's quite simple:
First you write a string of numbers, and if read backwards each number should be double the value of the one infront of it:
254-128-64-32-16-8-4-2-1
That can go on forever...
Now to translate a string of 0's and 1's:
Take the string of binary:
00101011
Add your numbers above it:
254-128-64-32-16-8-4-2-1
00101011
The first number in the binary corresponds to the first letter in our row of numbers, so the first 1 means 1, the second 1 in the code is 2 with the following 0 being 4.- and remember, we're going from right to left AKA backwards.
Now, a 1 means that number is used, a 0 mean it isn't. So by doing this we can see that 1,2,8 and 32 is used, giving us a grand slam total of 43, which in the language of ASCII is "+".
So what Mr.Knight wanted to tell us is: "+ Rep"
