Re: So.......

dont get me wrong its a game thats hard to put down, but there's alot of things wrong with it.

I guess I like the first Fable better.

hopefully Fable III will be as good (better?) than the first. :D

Re: So.......

It was fun, but it's replay value was pretty crappy.

Replay value isn't about moral decisions, it's about content.

Are you insane? Fable 2's replay value is the best I've ever seen.

Re: So.......

How? All you get to do is make different choices. You still have to do (mostly) the same things. I played as a good character, and the only way I could have played differently was to make Bowerstone Old town look ****ty, and do the Temple of Shadows quest line. A bunch of other minor quest endings do not constitute replay value. I like it in Oblivion where I can play two entirely different games and not do the same quest twice. I'd happily trade Fable's "moral choice" system for an Oblivion like amount of content.

Re: So.......

It's not about what you do, it's about who you are. I haven't played through it 24 times (and counting) because I enjoy doing the same quests over and over, it's because I can be a different Hero each time I play the game. Sometimes I'll be a heroic swordsman with a halo above my head. Other times I'll be a villainous and barbaric brute who smashes things with a massive hammer. The possibilities are endless. I'll even create a persona for each of my characters, and there will be a reason for everything I do to customize them. I'll give you some examples.

I've created a character that believes in the "old ways" of Heroes. He doesn't like the industrialization that is happening in Albion, and he'll never touch a gun. All he uses is his trusty crossbow. He wears ranger clothing because he's a more "woodsy" kind of person, and he appreciates nature much more than somewhere like Bowerstone.

Another character I've made is an evil and stealthy rogue/assassin. He'll only settle for the quickest weapons he can get, so he only uses katanas and clockwork pistols. He is also a master of the time control spell so that he can rush around the battlefield in order to quickly dispatch his enemies or slow down time in order to ensure his target does not escape if he is spotted. He can't have anything slowing him down or impairing his ability to stealthily stalk his prey. He wears light clothing and keeps himself pure so that he doesn't have bulky clothing or horns getting in his way. He also keeps his hair short so that it won't get in his eyes. He needs to be able to see well so that he is aware of all of his surroundings.

I love creating characters like this. I do it when I'm playing TLC too, although it's better in Fable 2. This is the reason Fable 2 is my favorite game ever and TLC is my second favorite (replay value isn't the only thing that puts Fable 2 above TLC, though.).

Re: So.......

Yeah, I guess. But it's like I said in the other thread, I like to play these kinds of games as myself. I don't like to role play with different characters.

Some "bad" things:

Not as many Spells.
No Lockpicking.
No Fishing.
No Sneaking.
No aging.
No Armour [c'mon atleast have SOME].
Not as many towns [not including DLC].
Not really any bows.
No Good plot.
The overall feel of the game wasnt very...."Fabley"
Like it's predecessor, it was too short and easy.
No Fist Fighter's gang, or any attempt to have anything like it.
Pathetic excuse for an arena [The Crucible]
etc.

Some "good" things:

Dog.
Dog Morality.
Pure/Corrupt bar.
Dying clothes.
Badass "old school" guns.
More Silver keys.
Prettier Graphics.
Taking up small jobs. [woodcutting, bartending, smithing, etc]
Gargoyles [though very annoying, they bring treasure]
Children [even though they're REALLY annoying and never age at all]

Fable II IS a good game, but NOT near as good as Fable or Fable: TLC were.

i agree in a way but when i comes to the aging in f1 if u had a nice long play through of the main plot, but when u were done ur hair was gray and u were farting dust. and also about the not very "fabley" feel, i enjoyed the new feel i mean there are millions of medival rpgs and like year 3000 rpgs out there its rare to see a good original themed game (this was how i interpreted what u were saying correct me if im wrong)

I actually thought the whole aging process was pretty neat in the first one..

As I've said, Fable II is a good game...just not as good as the first.
And what I meant about the not feeling "Fabley" was that whenever I play F2, it doesnt feel like I'm playing a Fable game. It's like......I dont really know how to explain it.
