I'm also glad that Avatar didn't win, it was far too hyped after it's release and completely over rated in my opinion.

Would it have won if people weren't so obsessed with it already? Who knows, but they would have had a better chance.

Kinda have lost hope with the academy eversince their ignorance won and Brokeback Mountain didnt get the oscar for motion picture.

Regardless, although I havent seen Hurt Locker its great that a female director got an oscar.
