Your dream job?

Just curious now - what would be your dream job? What would be your ideal, enjoyable way of making money? I think it would be interesting to see what kind of answers some of us come out with... ^_^

Me? I'd love to quit my job and work on my websites full-time, earning my income through sponsors, advertising and affiliate campaigns and the like - which is actually what I'm building up to but we'll have to see how that goes.

What is your ideal job?

Sounds like a perfectly achieveable dream ^_^

I dont really know what id like, of course id love something like that also but cant see it happening for me. Hard to say what id want really as there are a few that come to mind. Working with computers and doing something worthwhile and fun, bits inbetween could be anything from designing things, working on forums, testing software/games, anything the mind can dream really.

Re: Your dream job?

I'd like my own shop selling books, music and resource materials. I'd also LOVE to be back in a band, making music and recording albums again...but the shop idea is more feasible...

Andy, why not do a course in computery wossnames? You can fit it around your current job, qualify, stick two fingers up to your boss and do what you enjoy rather than what needs to be done to pay the bills/keep you in a good supply of drink etc...I know you've probably already considered this, but then I am a big fan of further education if it can get you somewhere you want to be...I haven't the money (or time) to do courses, but I'm starting to teach myself business studies and accounts...with my dyslexia it should be, ahem, interesting

Ive been to college and got the qualifications, would maybe like some more on top of what ive already got but fact of the matter is there are no jobs around here involving them. Unless i train up my HTML again (which ive forgotten mostly) from college and join my friends dads web company as ive been offered.

Well I have a few:

I would like to be an agent for the FBI or a Forensic Psychologist/Criminal Profiler for them.

Owning my own game store would also be killer.

Writing my own novels is also somthing I would like to do.

You are mistaken - there are NO jobs around here  Well, unless you want to drive a forklift or work in telesales...

Seriously, if you already have some qualifications then top them up - it really is worth it. Then take that job offer and move on up in a field you enjoy...if I had that kind of opportunity I wouldn't wanna miss out...:D

Well i cant really travel as i dont have a car yet and nearest job offer was Wolverhampton and i cant travel there and back everyday. Plus i havent got the cash to keep myself funded to move away on my own. I got decent amount of cash in bank but dont know if it would keep me sustained weekly on my own living in places with all bills, rent, food, travel, petrol and such to pay for. Plus id have to move away to make use of any extra qualifications i obtained.

Re: Your dream job?

That's a shame...but you're learning to drive, so that's something at least. I'm sure there is a way around it somehow...if not for this job, then for future jobs of a similar nature...

Re: Your dream job?

Well, you don't need a course to top up (X)HTML - a book will do it and there are some excellent online tutorials for brushing up...and I know Steve can recommend some good books.

I've given up looking for work...like you say, there is nada around here and I want my brain to be challenged in whatever job I take..I can almost feel my mind winding down as I type...

Yeah the jobs around here are pretty mindless work but some do pay well, i wont stay in my job im just getting enough cash put aside until i want to move on. Yeah i will start looking into it again when i have more time soon and touch up my skills.
