Where'd you get this information? Anyway, that sounds interesting. A dog at sea? Hmmm... And a 50 year old dog? Is that in human years?

To be honest, that'd be sad. Very sad. People who dress their tiny dogs in fashionable clothes and carry them around in their handbags as some fashion.... thingamajjig - I hate them. Dogs aren't meant to wear clothes, just because it is cute doesn't mean they like it.

On a more on-topic note; Why would the dog not go with you? By all we've heard it would make no sense if it didn't.

Dog = Fully Morphable

Just like your character your dog will change accordingly over the years, it will change to suit your alignment and vary its appearance depending on your actions- it can look like a sheep dog thing or a bulldog etc.
