So I finally fell victim to a glitch beyond clipping errors. I hoped that wouldn't happen.

For some reason, almost every villager I speak to only gives the option to "accept". No interact, no holding hands. "Accepting" just allows me to interact like normal. I cannot hold anyone's hand, so I cannot do relationship quests... or bed my wife... er.. wives.. you know...

I know this is a fairly common glitch, so if anyone else has had it, how did you fix it? Or did you?

Never had nor heard of this glitch but I imagine it's one of the game breaking ones. If turning the Xbox 360 on and off doesn't work then my guess is, is that you're going to have to start all over again.

I was lucky enough to only have it with one person, and that was my husband at the time. I think it was because he was moved when he had a gift for me or something, so the only option ever was to accept. I couldn't hold his hand or anything, but I could still interact by hitting A.

In the end I just divorced him, and he sulks around, not speaking to me.

If it's everyone, then it sounds like a game breaking one. :/ Looks like you might need to start over.

Luckily it was only a handful of villagers. As in, the handful that I actually liked. :@

I turned off the 360 for a moment and started her up again, and that fixed a few of them. My wife, however, is still glitched. I'm hoping I don't have to divorce / kill her. She has a slightly unique-ish voice that I personally haven't come across before. =/ I liked this one. Ugly as hell, perhaps, but I liked the buns and her voice was rather cute.

Oh, and after moving my new maid girlfriend/wife into my old house, I find that someone stole all my good furniture and replaced it with worn. Wtf?

*sigh* I guess this is payback for enjoying an entire first playthrough.

I've never had this glitch but I have the one where ever wife I get never goes past happy once i marry her. ( Thats a glitch right? It should say love? )

hmmm.. I'm not sure? Mine always said happy after marrying and never reached love again. I thought that love was just the sacrifice you had to make for marriage. Haha.

You might need to have a few interactions with her first? I know my kids won't love me until I end up giving them a couple of gifts each time. Except little Reaver, amusingly, he's always happy to see me.

I got that after the last patch, but it doesn't hinder gameplay. The only thing that happens is that the Interact button now says Accept. If I click it I get into the normal interaction scene, and if they do in fact have a gift for me to accept, I just accept it like normal.

It hinders gameplay because I cannot hold hands anymore. Many villagers are glitched, but I'm mostly upset because about my relationships. My wife is never happy because I can't bed her, and the other female I wanted to marry is no longer an option because I can't take her on a date.

It was nearly impossible getting the wife into town in the first place because I could not hold her hand after the wedding. I had to "sex invite" her like a prostitute, which I hoped would continue to be an option. It didn't, obviously.

Yeah, that's what it was like for me. I couldn't hold my husband's hand to lead him to bed, even when he was demanding we had sex. I actually pushed him to the nearest bed I could to see if actually doing the deed would fix the glitch, but no, while it worked, it didn't fix him.

I recently had this happen with Elise myself, but I found I could still hold her hand by pressing the left trigger from the interact screen. Other then needing this extra step she seems to work like normal, even having a kid didn't fix it though.

You know what, I never thought to try that? Great idea! I'm going to give that a shot when I play again.

I think I could hold hands after that... but it could also be that the glitch only occurred on my main character who I've already finished all quests and everything with, unlike my evil character whom I used for the Popularity Contest and Henry the VIII achievements. With her (the evil one was a she, the good one a he like me :P) I could lead them to where they wanted our dates to be and stuff, so I could marry them. And then kill them. XD

Ah, thank you! Just the tip I needed. I don't need to dispose of another spouse now! Yay!
