It was fun but uninteresting.
*SPOILERS*
I started the game trying to be a good guy, so I made all the good choices and had fun rolling around in the game, that is until I stepped out of the castle, realized that each shop only sells two items, that there are too many dig spots that allow me to go take **** breaks before I can maneuver again and the downright lack of interesting qualities in the campaign, so it made me push for linear conquest to get to the King mode so that I could be a happy and loving Monarch. As I enter the combat system I am shocked to learn that just like Fable II you cannot actually die but merely get 'knocked out' but unlike Fable II there is EVEN LESS consequence for falling asleep during fisticuffs.
Ignoring those factors, the campaign was fun and the characters were interesting, but all the minor quests were so easy that they could be done while drunk, and combat was so breezy I didn't stray from the rifle throughout the whole game.
Now I entered King mode, after defeating the promisingly cool Evil, now I learn that despite me being a good Hero, I have to be an arse to save the Kingdom, so now I am Evil/Good/Bipolar as ****. The King mode becomes very fast paced and easy being mostly me holding the 'X' button while being a green Chicken on a throne. And a feature which really drove me nuts is that I can murder my entire civilian population and no one gives a noodle basket.
The game comes to close and the Evil is here... Big battle? Grand adventure? NO! a quarter mile stroll through Bowerstone killing forty enemies then shooting Walter to death in a anti-climatic battle that seemed illogical on how the Evil gets expelled from the land. This is followed up by all the other characters treating the death like Walter was a pet Hamster.
Fun game, bad characters, boring story, bad combat.
EDIT: As crap as I found the game, the coin and card deck was pretty sweet.
