Fun/favorite ways to play through Fable 3?

I love this game. It was the first game I got for the 360 (just got it last Christmas), and I've loved every minute of it.

--**May contain SPOILERS**--

I've beaten the game 4 times:
1. First playthrough, just did whatever I could to "get by" and did whatever I felt was right (whether it was good or evil). Neutral-good male spellwarrior-type hero.
2. Made sure to save everyone, even if it meant making evil decisions (it usually did :devil:). Neutral-evil female gunslinger.
3. Decided to be completely evil. Made every evil decision possible, made sure not a single live was saved from the darkness, every town is empty except for a few guards. Evil male pirate-esque warrior.
4. Tried the complete good route. Made almost every good decision possible, made sure every life was saved from the darkness, most people Love me. Good female witch hunter (guns/spells).

What other ways to play through should I try? I've considered having my hero stay naked for the entirety of the game (other than weapons, of course), but I figured it wouldn't be much of a change since clothing is only for aesthetics.

What types of playthroughs have you tried? Which are your favorite?
 
Not really sure of any other ways you could play through the game other than the ways you have mentioned. The only other way I can think of is to take the easy road and use the money cheat so you can easily stay good and still save everyone lol.

For the first two fable games I played through evil the first time because evil is just my favorite. But I played through good the first time in Fable 3 for some reason. Haven't had the chance to play F3 through a second time until now so I am really excited to finally play through the evil story line.
 
To which "money cheat" are you referring? I thought most of the cheats had been patched?
 
I haven't played in a while so the one I am talking about may have been patched already. It's the one where you join in as a guest with a second controller and send yourself a gift of money, then with the guest you reject it or something like that.
 
Hm, I've seen something like that before. I'll have to Google it. That'd help a lot; on my most recent Good hero, I manually gifted 7 million gold from a previous hero to a guest account then again to the current hero (making 140 transactions is incredibly tedious).
 
Yea definitely lol. This cheat makes things really easy. You get tons of money pretty fast. But don't take my word for it. Like I said it's been a while since I've played so they could have patched it by now.
 
Yes the gift/reject trick was patched out. There's another way to duplicate money/weapons/items, but for money it would have still taken the same 140 transactions that it took you, and money isn't too hard to come by in this game.

Anyway, on-topic I'm thinking about trying to play through using only melee weapons (minus puzzles and flit-switches obviously). Might make the combat somewhat challenging.

Well, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I consider myself to be quite the master of changing things up in each of my Fable playthroughs. Generally, there are three types of characters that I like to create:

1. Single Hero Discipline. This one is pretty simple: just use one Hero discipline, and center your character around that. For example, you could go through the game using nothing but a hammer. This character might be some sort of brute since he's only using a heavy melee weapon, so you could give him some armor and maybe a big bushy beard. Or, perhaps you have a character that does nothing but cast spells. You could put on the magic outfit, and maybe mix it up with other outfits if you want. If your predominant spell is Shock, you could dye some of your outfit blue, or you could use red and/or orange if you use Fireball most of the time. Obviously, there are many possibilities for this. Try to come up with some of your own. :thumbsup:

2. Double Hero Discipline. Again, we have a very simple concept: use two Hero disciplines. Don't just randomly pair them together though. They should be connected in some way. For example, you could be a swordsman, but if you wanted a second Hero discipline, throw in an unweaved Blades spell to reinforce the idea that your character uses nothing that doesn't involve a blade. Or, if you wanted to use some magic with your pistol or rifle, morph your gun into a magical gun. Get the arcane grip for using the Fireball or Shock spell, get the ornate or clockwork barrel for killing enemies with magic, and get the flame or lightning aura for using the Fireball or Shock spell. Also, if you wanted to leave magic out of it entirely, you could try using only heavy weaponry. Whip out your hammer and morph your rifle into a shotgun. Again, you're not limited to just these ideas. The possibilities here are virtually endless.

3. Item Centered Hero. For this one, just pick some sort of item or items that you'd like to use throughout the game, and center your character around it/them. I did this with the preorder bonus weapons that I managed to get my hands on. I'll discuss the playthroughs I had with the Channeler and the Inquisitor. The Channeler is a magical sword. It was made by Garth, after all, and it does shock damage once you complete one of its upgrades. So, I made an electricity/swordsman character. I used the Channeler and a weaved Shock and Blades spell, and I wore part of the magic outfit. When I used the Inquisitor, I made a character identical to Reaver. I used the Inquisitor, I wore posh and fancy looking clothes, I was completely evil, and I even traded over an unupgraded Dragonstomper .48 in the beginning of the game for me to use. Another character that I plan to create will be centered around the Soldier outfit. He'll be good, and he'll use a sword and a rifle, just like any soldier you see out on the streets of Bowerstone. The morphs for his sword will be some somewhat bland, unassuming, and easy-to-get morphs, because soldiers' weapons are typically very fancy, and as for his rifle, he'll be starting out with an unupgraded Swift Irregular. Most recently, I've finished a character that was centered around the afro hairstyle. When I first saw that hairstyle, I immediately thought "Afro Samurai!" So, my Afro Samurai character had a sword with morphs that made it look like a katana, he wore a white shirt, black pants, and the sandals from the male Auroran outfit (because Afro wears sandals), and of course, he had an afro. I have to admit, a lot of the time, item centered characters are the most fun, partially because there are even more possibilities here than for the other two types of characters I create.

I play with two things in mind: Fun and Hero Morphs. I started out slaying tons of Brightwall guards just because I didn't want my weapon glyphs to glow that ugly-ass blue. But then from there, I just did whatever felt natural to me. Sometimes I was nice to people and other times, I was a total douche in much the same way I would act if I were really in the world of Albion.
 
In my last three games, I made all evil decisions in one character then traveled around Albion, making everyone my best friend, also had sex with every women in Albion. The second was pretty easy: made all the good decisions there is to make in the game and my Treasury was full even before the last Quest started (this one is still a virgin). The last Hero (my current favourite) is Neutral-Neutral (with nice Raven wings with almost no red markings) and he followed a British-history based gameplay (I enslaved the Auroran people on the context of Britain setting a colony up on India). All three characters used 0 potions/food and didn't get knocked out in the entire game.I discovered one seriously annoying thing though: it seems that even when you use nothing but guns you still get that stupid melee upgrade (plus one star in Brawn section)... I managed to avoid it with the third character, though...
