It's come to my attention that people my age don't make any sense when it comes to gaming, a game will come out and people will talk about it but then immediately decide whether its gonna be the 'thing' to play or not. Right now its FIFA 14 and GTA 5 but if someone talks about another game people just act like your crazy! Do you think it matters what you play? Do the types of games you play vary as you get older? Is it like this all the time in school?

Just wondered :/

It depends what kind of thing you're in to and what way you want to use games i guess. Most people in school use them as a form of interaction between other classmates, so if you don't have the latest game, well, you could be excluded from conversations and stuff that revolve around it? But, does it matter? Not at all.

Gaming is a hobby and can also be a passion, if you like a type of game, play it, despite what other people are playing. If you don't, well, then don't!

I guess that also being at that age, media and propaganda like advertising is a huge factor in what kind of games kids play. If something like say, Call of Duty comes out, chances are people will want to get it when they are above the age of around 12~ or even earlier, just because of how well know the franchise is and the type of market it appeals to, not necessary because it's a good game. So yeah, it's a pretty common thing at school.

Overall though, my advice? Play the games you enjoy and the games you want too, because at the end of the day you're the only playing them and you should do what you enjoy. If you can play them with other people and enjoy them, well, then that's just a bonus!

I wouldn't force to play yourself to play games like Fifa if you don't like them because chances are you'll be bored off your face.

When I was a kid every game looked cool. Going into gamestop I would be hypnotized by the wall of games I'd want to play every single one. But now that I'm older I've developed a very fine taste for gaming. I only wanna play games I like. I played Oblivion for half a decade I had over 10,000 saves. I played Skyrim for less than a month :(
I still love gaming but now it is very easy to tell right off the bat wether or not a game will interest me if at all.

The sheep mentality of school children, they find games that are popular (CoD, Fifa etc) then only play them & tend to ignore everything else. They aren't usually actually gamers, just people who participate in particular activities because they are seen to be "cool" at the time. A lot of the time they ONLY play these games throughout an entire console generation.

I work with a guy who only really plays Assassins Creed & Fifa games along with handful of others. Most games I mention to him he has never even heard of.

Peer Pressure is bad Mmmm'kay?

Play as many or as little games as you want, what games you want & find the genres you like and enjoy.

That's it.
