I was wondering this too, until I went to the same spot a few times after turning off my Xbox each time. What appears to happen is that there is always a dig spot in about a 30 foot pre-designated area, then there is just so many of those areas in each region.:)

I only use legendary weapons, because the legendaries that I use are about 10-20 more damage. The ones that I use are (most of the time) the Inquisitor and the Chickenbane. Plus I like the bonuses of the upgrades on legendaries.

Have you attacked with the weapon since then?
