2500 barrels equals engine error

I was ****ing around in garrys mod and thought it would be funny be spawn 50 x 50 explosive barrels. Apprently the engine didn't think it would be and crashed.

After that I spawned 20 x 20, the barrels didn't crash right away but when I tríggered the explosion I lost the connection to my own singleplayer game

But yeah that happend to me on Fable with the exploding barrels. As soon as they exploded I got the blue screen and a instant reboot. =o

Probably from too much lag.

Is that a game limitation or a system limitation?

In Garrys Mod it's a source engine limitation that should prevent the game from crashing....
