A Weird Connection

Im sure everyone here has heard of the whole "2012" theory. well, i was watching some Discovery Channel and they were talking about a "perfect Solar Storm" that happened in the 1980s or so (probably 1800s). The Storm caused some damage but nothing severe, only because of the lack of technology we had back then. If a "perfect storm" were to hit again (which it will) it would cause massive damage and even basically be the end of the world. The people believe a perfect storm is most possible to hit us in 2012. Also...i just happen to be graduating in 2012...it just seems a lil wierd....

Re: A Weird Connection

Its coincedental you made this thread because my friend was yammering on about the exact program and his "2012" theories. Hey, if the end of the world comes then too bad. Why not accept our fate and get things over with.

Re: A Weird Connection

Because all our electronics will stop working.

Re: A Weird Connection

not only that. they would work wrong. missiles could launch on their own. Down power lines can cause huge fires all over. The world would go dark.

Re: A Weird Connection

I believe the end of the world has been announced about a million times and believe that no one really knows when it will all be gone, but i'm not really going to stop living till because people start talking stuff, but maybe we then need to pick the good side of life and leave the evil one for fable 2 :)

Re: A Weird Connection

This makes me think of when people said all of the computers in the world would start malfunctioning in 2000, didn't happen.

Yeah, exactly what this reminded me of also. Y2K. It never happened and I'd be willing to bet that this one won't either.

normal solar flares yes. but a "Perfect Storm" DID happen back then. and they predicted it will happen in 2012. and besides, this is scientific, not a belief. its very possible it could happen

Science is about theories, so it is about belief. This is just a theory, we don't know for sure if it will happen.

Re: A Weird Connection

It' could, but actually the Mayans believed that the world and civilization would end 21 December 2012, pretty fascinating, thought, but they fell way before that, lets wait and see then:) , but does this mean no Fable 3 then :(

Re: A Weird Connection

They have almost 4 years to get Fable 3 out

Re: A Weird Connection

Well SCIENTISTS :) I just want to know the exact time so that I can plan ahead/part maybe, but would it suck if you blow all your cash and reputation and it doesn't end or you expect it's a ruse and you don't do something and it does:) 3-4 years for Fable 3 then Lonhead beter get moving then:)

Re: A Weird Connection

Anyone believeing in god would look at this then turn there head, it hasen't happened before so theres a very high chance it won't happen now (Even if it does lets all have a heavon party! whos bringing the keg?)

Re: A Weird Connection

the mayans were really forward looking, much more so than anyone else at the time (and most people now) so hu knows... they MIGHT be right...

Newly uncovered scientific data of recorded history's most massive space storm is helping a NASA scientist investigate its intensity and the probability that what occurred on Earth and in the heavens almost a century-and-a-half ago could happen again.
Once in a while--exactly when scientists still cannot predict--an event occurs on the surface of the Sun that releases a tremendous amount of energy in the form of a solar flare or a coronal mass ejection, an explosive burst of very hot, electrified gases with a mass that can surpass that of Mount Everest.
"The question I get asked most often is, 'Could a perfect space storm happen again, and when?'" added Tsurutani. "I tell people it could, and it could very well be even more intense than what transpired in 1859. As for when, we simply do not know," he said.
I think that says plenty on the subject ;)

Re: A Weird Connection

What matters if we all go? What matters if everything we've done dissapears? Well, the dinosaurs passed in the blink of an eye, but their existence has lived on. I believe that everything has to end at some point, but its the stuff that is born after it that matters.

I don't know why people are so afraid of the age of man or earth ending. It might be because they haven't seen enough in this world. Doesn't that tell us, though, to do whatever we can before our end comes? Like I said: everything ends, but our end doesn't have to be grim.

Re: A Weird Connection

Just to make it clear, the Mayans only believed that it was the end of the world because their long term calendar didn't go further ahead. If numbers worked differently, then it might have been another thousand years away. I don't believe any of these crackpot "End of Ze World" business. Just another way of making money.
