Age?

So I was just sitting (thinking about Fable, like always) and I was wondering if you'll start out as a kid again.
If this was already answered somewhere can I have a link? :D
I just imagined that because you start out as a rebel trying to become king, that would just be straight up adulthood (or pre-adolescence)
Thanks <3

Re: Age?

I heard that either you'd begin from your last save in Fable II, and have the same stats and everything, or if not you were your characters son. I think you'd probably start from around fifteen, because being the son of a king, there wouldn't be much to do.

Re: Age?

Well you wouldn't be the son of a king, you'd be more like a son of a peasant who inspired his son (you) to strive for epic and then take over the kingdom
I don't think you should begin from your last save, maybe as some reward after you finish the main quest line it would be nice (like when you start a new game you can use Fable II char)

Re: Age?

Maybe. But there's two parts of the game - over throwing the current king, then ruling Albion yourself. If you start from your last save, you have to over throw the king as your Fable II character, if not then you overthrow him as your Fable II characters son.

Re: Age?

You're definitely going to start out as a kid in Fable 3. In Fable, all you have to do is look for a pattern. If something's been done in the last two games, it'll most likely be done in Fable 3. Like in TLC & Fable 2, in Fable 3, you'll start out as a kid, do some small and unimportant tasks, then some big event happens that completely changes your life, someone comes to take you away from it all and make you into a Hero, a cutscene plays, and you begin playing again in your late teens or early adulthood.

Re: Age?

^Exactly.

Re: Age?

yeah, some things just can't be changed :)

considering you are Logan's brother/sister, the intro will probably be more dramatic than just the inquisitive sister in f2.

its probably going to be some tasks again which affects your future
but i'm guessing the intro is where logan does a "terrible injustice" to your parent(s) and inherits the throne probably by being older.
that is what inspires you to get revenge.
but considering how fable 1 and 2 gave the character a mentor, i wonder if will be theresa agin, or someone new.

That's exactly why I was wondering.
I was thinking, are they gonna stick to the "tradition" or just be straightforward
And I suppose what you said makes sense, but do you think they might also have that period of training between childhood and adulthood like in the first or they just dropped that in Fable II?

1. I had no idea that you were Logan's brother/sister so thanks for the info <3
2. I have no doubt that Theresa will play a large role, she's been in Fable since the beginning

Re: Age?

to be honest, i have second thoughts about theresa being a main role, i think she will probably stay in her tower and help out from behind the scenes, since it would probably make here more manipulative and shady

Re: Age?

Well she'll have SOME role
It wouldn't make any sense not to have her at ALL

Re: Age?

yeah, but still, the player most likely wont have access to the spire, and theresa probably wont go back to the guild, (since it is considered the start menu interface (GUIld))

Re: Age?

What about the start menu interface?
And I know this is looking really far into the future, but if they don't add to the [New] Spire's lore at all (because this is very soon after Fable 2, being a direct descendant of the hero) then they're probably gonna make it a main thing in Fable 4 (or just go another 5000 years into the future and have books about it)

Re: Age?

the start menu is called the GUIld (graphic user interface) which means the game interface (menu's and such) if made into the new guild, (not sure if it is the heroes guild in bower lake or not (probably, since the f3 hero will have access to it from the start)

and im sure there will be alot of rumors and books about the spire, but i doubt the hero will have access to it.

Yeah, that's probably the most logical way to look at it
I still don't get what you mean about the GUI and a guild BUT you don't have to keep explaining *Google Time*

Re: Age?

graphical user interface, is the game stuff that isn't actually scenery, objects or people, so any start menu's or the expression wheel, or lists of stuff, and in f2 things like the health bar.
it is things that aren't actually in the game world itself, but for the player to see and use.
so the GUIld makes use of it and technically makes in part of the game world.

another GUI thing will be the map system, since realistically looking at a map wouldn't show moving people or the ability to change stuff.

First of all I know what GUI is (just saying hehe)
Second, are you just saying basically that GUIld is what Lionhead is using for the GUI?

Re: Age?

the guild is where you go when you press start, lionhead are making a pun of GUIld since the guild is part of the GUI.

Re: Age?

OOOOOOOH!
GUIld isn't a like totally real thing, it's just to put one into a good humor! YAY

Re: Age?

Also, going back to the main subject, I think they basically HAVE to start you as a kid.
It's for the nostalgia factor, like seeing him/her at the beginning then all the way as a king/queen with power.
The Perfect World level not only was to show that the Hero sacrificed living perfectly for saving the world, but also to give you a sense of nostalgia. It's making you think about how you worked and got through everything that happened throughout the storyline
