Alien vs. Predator 'completely unique', says creator

When asked if the game had any natural competition in the marketplace, Rebellion co-founder Jason Kingsley said the following about their latest creation and revisit to the Alien Vs Predator world.

Not as such - the three species interaction in AvP is completely unique. You normally have good guys or bad guys; in Halo you have humanity and your other creatures. But that's two sides. Out game has three - and the third side adds an interesting dimension, especially in multiplayer.

He was then asked about the online multiplayer modes and said the following.

Predator Hunt is just marines vs. Predators with no Aliens around. Another good one is Infestation, which has you starting off with one Alien surrounded by a load of marines.

"However, as soon as a marine gets killed, he turns into an Alien. That one's great fun from a social perspective. Eventually, there's just one marine running around screaming amongst all these Aliens.

"It also flips - you have to play the bad guy once you're dead, and it gives you the chance to settle grudges with the person who killed you in the first place. You're not just red or blue in this game; there's more social judgement involved.

Its due to be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next month.

Sounds pretty awesome! Hope it lives up to the expectation. I think I'll keep my eye on this tho seein' I'm a pretty big fan of the films

Films were merely cash-ins on a great licence in my opinion. The original Alien and Predator movies were awesome but didnt really like the Alien Vs Predator movies. So much wasted potential i thought, however i was a big fan of the original AVP game on PC and this is by the same developer which pleases me.

Ohh yeah I agree completely. I meant to say the originals lol. The last two films were shoddy and weak imo and I don't think the originality from the first films can be recovered The game however is hopefully going to improve the franchise from a gaming perspective.

If Rebellion can recapture the feel and atmosphere of the original game and revitalise it for this gen id be very happy. Could be an excellent addition to the Xbox Live catalogue.

ever heard of shadowrun? it's ALL multiplayer with humans, elves, orcs, and dwarves. not new will keep reading.

yeahhh first of all that's a 2 sided game. second of all they already did that in halo...it's called infection. a game they tried to diferentiate from...yeah, right.

since when was social judgement synonymous with griefing?

i could be wrong and this game is fantastic, but i'm not holding my breath. he bs'd way too much in that interview. :lol:

This is one game I've been looking forward to dunno to get it on 360 or ps3 though. :s

I'll enjoy stealth killing peeps as a alien xD

Ill get it later, like in the summer, my recent funds have been saving up for Bioshock 2, something my friends have criticized me about.
