it's all over the "UFOwatch blogs" but i thought i'd link to a reputable news source who, although slanted, would not create a complete lie for publicity. what do you think? is the scientist lying to us all, have we been contacted? should we follow stephen hawkings advice when we encounter alien life?

I suppose it's a good thing We haven't found them or they haven't found us yet. They'd probably only want to enslave us all or use us as guinea pigs for some sick human-beast experiment of theirs. Just look at the way We have treated each other over the span of Our history, it would probably only end up with one side being exploited in one way or another.

Agreed, an immediate attack would not be wise. The last thing this planet needs is an interstellar war, the outcome would be potentially devestating given the technology They'd have access to. Best to be on guard though, just in case.

Were we to be visited now by aliens who wanted to go all British Empire on our backwater arses, there wouldn't really be a lot we could do, military or not. I mean, spears don't do too well against guns.
