Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

So Bad Company 2 is out today, and I just wanted to know if anyone has picked it up or is going to. Or if you you are in Europe are you picking it up when it comes out?

Man, I can't wait for this game. I swear to god if they stop me and ask for ID I'm going to go ape**** all over them.

Re: Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

I'm getting it.

Re: Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

Sweet. I'm going to try and get the Limited Edition if I can. For some reason all my friends say unless I preorder I will never get it on any game I buy, but I always do. Like MW2. I didn't preorder and I got the hardened edition. :P

Man I want the game so freakin' bad. School just keeps dragging on and on and on...

Re: Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

I don't see what's so appealing about it. I played the demo and to quote myself:

''Meh''.

What do you like about it so much?

Re: Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

I like how the game revolves completely around teamwork. And like the name implies, it is a battlefield. It takes a lot of strategy to win. The only problem are those damn little kids who take the helicopters EVERY ****ING TIME and crash them into the nearest obstruction EVERY ****ING TIME. I love the Blackhawks too. Only problem is I have to be the pilot, because for some reason it is hard to grasp the controls for a helicopter. So I have to do a Circle of Death around the enemy base as my squad fires from above with miniguns.

So I got carried away.

tl;dr teamwork, more realistic, well balance combat, even with vehicles, and the new class setups are SICK. Well, so far from what I've seen.

It sounds good when you read it there.

I suppose it's just one of those games you just don't like. Of course, playing Call of Duty frequently makes it harder. It's like trying to play FIFA after playing Pro Evo.

Yeah I suppose. But the graphics are just... Just... Oh my god they are so good. I had no idea until I played the beta on the PC. I hate my freakin SDTV. I need to upgrade. Really badly.

Re: Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

Will hopefully get this for my B'day this weekend. Any one want to get it for me? :P

^ Skotekal you definitely should upgrade. Fortunately after I 'accidently' sht my tv with a bb gun . . . yes it was an accident ! :P I was able to claim it under house nsurance and the money helped me pay for a new Full HD tv. The best worst mistake I have ever made ! lol :D

I'm too poor, unfortunately. It sucks so much ass not being able to play games to their fullest because of my TV.

Re: Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

Mine should arrive tomorrow as it was posted yesterday morning but not officially meant to be out until Friday in UK.

Pretty sweet. The campagin so far is... Okay I guess. I was really let down by the amount of profanity though. I liked the comical humour in BC1. And it seems to be a lot more serious now. But I haven't finished the campaign yet, so yeah.

"Who wears cowboy hats in a war?"
"uhh... cowboys?"
"Cowboys haven't been in a war for over 100 years."
"The Dallas Cowboys go to war every Sunday. Sometimes Monday."

I use gameplay, always seem to get games either a day early or in some cases ive had them earlier. Anyone who has it yet want to give some opinions on the game (without spoilers)?

I'm disappointed with the campaign thus far. BC1 was a funny game. This game somehow thinks it is funny by saying "f***" more than often enough. Sure there are some hilarious parts, but overall the game is just... Meh. It also seems a lot more serious. I'm not enjoying it as much as BC1 thus far, but hey, you can't strike gold twice, and Dice is no exception. And it also feels like the first mission is more like a marketing ploy than anything.

But I haven't even touched online yet, so I can't give an opinion on that.

All the reviewers have said the toned down humour and more serious nature was intentional. Some humour was put in but meant to feel less forced and comical. They want to take the online shooter crown and want to be taken seriously for this.

Re: Anyone Picking up BF:BC 2 Today?

I just think we have enough serious war games. It was just funny to treat a life or death situation in the game with stride and a noncaring attitude. But, oh well. The game was still hilarious at the end, and the online is insane! Even with so many different weapons and gadgets, the game maintains balance. Blackhawks are insane transporters and with a good pilot and crew, can be devastating. But on the other end, a good tracer shot and a few RPG's can take you down in a heartbeat. It is just so well.

And the one thing I love like nothing other is the inability to spawn camp the attackers at their first base at the beginning of the game.

Havent tried the online yet, going to beat the single player first of all and ive got about 5 missions left to do and the campaign achievements to work on.
