^from what I understand you can't wash dreads unless you pull them out and redo them. Never had them so I don't have first hand knowledge.

Ahh, tis a common misconception about dreads. I just wash them like normal hair, with special shampoo. It's all very simple really. Still, there's alot of gunk still in there from when they were made. That needs to be fixed
