Authors You Read, Yet Also Hate

I'm gonna go with Ernest Hemingway here. Really enjoyed reading his books that in my opinion are excellent pieces of literature, but at the same time the man himself was a self-centered, alcoholic wife-beater, and egotistical prick that back-stabbed his closest of friends.

It sucks too when you find things out like this, because you get so invested into their works and end up imagining that they're a great person and that their material reflects their personality, only to find it as the complete opposite. It makes it hard to continue appreciating their art, but at the same time I don't like letting a person's personal life affect their professional work, but it's kinda hard. Still, despite the crap he's done I do respect his writing.

Bob Dylan.

Ender's Game is a great book but Orson Scott Card is an asshole.

Bahaha. I have a... former friend who's environmentally friendly to the core and uber-liberal who now hates Orson Scott Card and won't read anything he writes because of some of his political ****.

That being said, the man is also milking the Ender's Game universe for all it's worth, so... yeah.

J.K. Rowling kinda ****es me off. The whole "let's make Dumbledore gay because it'll make ppl s*** brix" thing was kinda lame. Sure, power to Dumbledore for preferring some Slytherin to some Hufflepuff but doing it to create some lulz, controversy and publicity is just, meh.

Well, I always though that he hung around with Harry a little too much for it to be just because he's the "chosen one"...

Thing is, it was never mentioned in the books. She sorta just came out and said "Uh yeah, he's liek gay and stuffs."

That used to annoy me, too, but I'm kinda willing to give it to her because she was so overt in implying that Dumbledore's brother was a goatf*****.

Though I guess you could go the other way. What, she'll imply that one Dumbledore is a goatf***** but she won't imply the other's gay? The hell is that?

EDIT: Just FYI, if you type "goatf*****" it won't auto-censor, and then you'll feel bad and want to go self-censor yourself.
