Baby Name

All right nerds, the wife and I are stressing about what to name our baby if it's a girl (we aren't finding out gender before birth but are solid on a boy's name).

We are keeping the name a secret but have mutually agreed that people who we don't know in real life don't count.

Congrats! You don't count! Help me name my baby.

Our top three options, as a pasty white American couple from Maryland, are as follows:

Esmeralda (or Esme)
Eleanor
Amelia/Emilia

Thoughts? Is Esmeralda too heavy of a name for a little baby girl in this day and age? Is it too cultural appropriation-y for us to use it? How much will the kid get roasted in kindergarten?

I love Esmeralda. It’s unusual and I reckon kids will love the Disney affiliation. We named our daughter after a Final Fantasy character and we have no regrets.

Eleanor is nice too.

As for Amelia - as pretty as it is - my kid has 2 Amelias in her class. It’s a very common name nowadays. Double points if their middle name is Rose. But maybe that doesn’t bother you, IDK.
