So I beat the game once around without thinking any enemy was too difficult, and now on my second saving after beating the bandit leader at the merc. camp, the bandits that pop up from Mistvalley Peak are just rediculously strong! I have a legendary weapon with 2/3 augments to boost its damage and it's still taking forever to down these guys and their hitting like trucks! Why is this happening so early in the game? Their constantly throwing fire bombs and the Big guy that has fire hands is there as well, and i know for a fact the first time i played he was not there so early in the game, I only just got the dwellers to join me! Im only alloud level 2 stuff right not and cant even spellweave.

The mercenary groups seem to be randomly generated. You might simply be unlucky.

There's not an enemy in this game whose attacks can't be reliably avoided by just rolling continuously. Mercenary (Bandit) Leaders blatantly telegraph their attacks if you watch them, making anything they do very easy to dodge. Not only that, even if you're 'killed', you don't suffer any penalties. Any difficulty in this game is self-imposed, because there's no way to ever really 'lose'.

Are you fighting using melee attacks? Melee is the hardest route to take. It requires at least a moderate understanding of enemy behaviors and move sets if you intend to perform well while using it. Especially if you use it exclusively like I do.
When fighting Mercenary Leaders, you don't want to just wildly mash 'X' on them. Slash them one or two times, then roll away, wait a moment, then roll back in and give them a one-two slash again. Repeat until they are dead. If you attack them for too long, they will block-counter you and blow you away. At close range Mercenary Leaders will not use fire bombs. They have a slow but powerful punch combo and a ground smash. The punch combo can be blocked and the smash is easily circumvented by rolling towards the Mercenary Leader.

Yes I know how combat works in this game, I do avoid alot of it but its still tough for this early on in the game. No I'm mostly rangeing them, useing a couple spells but the spells hardly do anything since its only level 2 on these what I believe to be near end game bandits. Sadface.

I think it's probably the fire bombs that're getting you. Using guns or magic on Mercenary Leaders seems to act like some kind of trigger which causes them to throw more fire bombs. If you're using magic, I recommend sticking to uncharged magic even though it's weak at low levels, that way you're free to roll away from any fire bombs. You could also try using the shock spell to stun them.

Sadly a shock spell this level wont stun them unless I charge it to level 4. Which takes lots of time which means im taking lots of damage. But Im hardly useing magic as I said its mostly gunning them.

I played co op to help someone get marriage and child achievement and for them to help me open mistvalley demon door but thats all.
Aha! There's a common glitch that produces while playing co-op with a fully leved companion. His awesomeness will infect your character and boost his/her stats to a fully leveled 5 stars. To check this, go to your Sanctuary and check the Hero Statue that's next to the Settings. There, you can check your stats. Alternatevly, just tell me if your tattoos are glowing.

I agree. Either that or there are just too many of them. They are always in the same places so I try to avoid them, but it's hard. They've killed multiple dates because I was unable to kill them all before they shot them. Even when I was maxed out I was annoyed at how long it took to kill the group.

Yes they are glowing. And jasper tells me how im glowing with magic or how strong I am. I thought that was wierd so early on.

I don't know what to tell you then, man. Get yourself a rifle and try to pick them off from a distance. All enemies have a specified 'territory' that they will always stick to. If you get far enough away from that territory they'll stop pursuing you and return to where they spawned in. Lead them to that invisible boundary line where they lose interest in you and then fill them with bullets when they turn around to go back.

Seriously? By mercenaries? I always felt they added spice to my dates because my lady friends get to see me own a bunch of guys.

So is there a way to get rid of this? I was really liking my saving I was killing things pretty fast till these bandits started.

Yep, you have a glitch right there. It happens to me too, it actually makes the game more challenging so it's not that bad. Also, to avoid these in further characters, don't co-op until you know you can handle endless hordes of White Blaverines and Lieutenant Simmons's.

No no no, not balverines, ENDLESS HORDES OF WHITE BALVERINES IN EVERY CORNER.

I'll just go cut my wrists. Whatever Ill get to it when I get to it thanks for the answers Im positive that I just got the rub off glitch because the guy I co-oped with had beated the game. Sadface, again.

I guess I'll just never understand how people die in this game. All it takes to be untouchable is a little understanding of enemy behaviors. When I finish my current playthrough I'm going to start a new one where I never level anything up, never use legendary weapons, and forbid myself the use of health potions. When I beat the game, I fully expect my knock out count to still be zero.
