Big choice within first 10 minutes

a new find at eurogamer expo event on escapistmagazine.com

Speaking at the Eurgamer Expo 2010 this morning, Lionhead
boss Peter Molyneux revealed some details about the game's
plot and how it forces players to figure out just what type of a
character they're playing.
"Within the first 10 minutes we give you what we think is an
equally big decision at the start of Fable III," Molyneux said.
"We're doing that because we want to establish your
character. If we make you care about something we can also
make you hate something that you care about."
Apparently Lionhead put this decision in the players' hands
early on because fans hated making such a tough decision at
the end of of Fable II. While the decision hasn't been made
public yet, a number of game journalists got to experience it
firsthand, including The Escapist's very own Susan Arendt. It
sounds like a pretty extreme moment, one that will definitely
make players stop and think about how they want the game
to progress.
However, Molyneux also promised that Fable III will be,
"undoubtedly the best Fable there has ever been. You're
going to be totally blown away by the pace, the story, the
surprises, the new levelling up system, the new cast." It
certainly sounds great, but I'm reserving judgment until
October 26.

Logan offers you the chance to save one of them. Or none, if you don't choose in time

Re: Big choice within first 10 minutes

I'd love it if the choice turned out to be something incredibly complex like

"Save woman who cured a rare disease and saved millions of people, but is now 80 years old and ill, or save the child who was born to evil, bandit parents, but, will have the chance to a great deed in the future that could make you incredibly rich, and make Albion a better place to live in. OR do you save 50 poor miners who are trapped in a mine that is about to collapse. None of them are particularly special, they all live mundane lives, and have never done anything to better their fellow man. But they're good people. With families to feed. You can only save one of these; the woman, the baby, or the miners."

I could definitely see Theresa pulling that kind of stunt. Oh! And whatever you choose will help neutralise your alignment [for example, if you were evil, it would give you Good points, and vice-versa.]

Don't know anything about except for the fact it exists. Can't comment on it, as there's nothing to comment on.

Re: Big choice within first 10 minutes

My first character is good... and will sadly probably not use my wonderful Reaver exclusive. I'd do the super obvious good choices my first time, then super obvious bad choices. After that I'll do what I always do and just do an achievement/my own realistic choices run.

So yeah.... Save Elliot/Elise.

Re: Big choice within first 10 minutes

Is it going to be another arbitrary, binary, and otherwise completely pointless piece of the game that may as well just have asked you if you wanted good or evil points?

Magic 8 ball says: Maybe.

At least the 8 ball knows that sometimes theres a gray area :getlost:
