World of Warcraft developer Blizzard has just revealed its newest IP and it is a PC multiplayer first-person shooter called Overwatch. A trademark for the title had been revealing in April so the name is no surprise. The game itself was revealed on Friday during the Blizzcon opening keynote via a trailer showing arena-based multiplayer PvP action with characters that boasted a range of special powers and abilities.
Official Statement about the game...
"The action of Overwatch takes place in a technologically advanced, highly stylized future earth. In a time of global crisis, an international task force of soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddities known as Overwatch had come together to restore peace to a war-torn world. After many years, the group's influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded. Overwatch might be gone now . . . but the world still needs heroes."
