Book Teacher Story - The Tale of Twinblade
Ok so I really like giving a book to the teacher and seeing what he makes of it when reading to the class. I think this was a great quirk in the game. Almost an Easter Egg. ^_^
I read that you can give the teacher 25 books. I presumed you could only give him each book once, otherwise you could be there forever, right?
I DEFINATELY gave him 'the Tale of Twinblade' not long before I did the actual quest where you fight twinblade. At the end of him reading it, a kid asked "What happened to Twinblade". The teacher replied "He's still King of the Bandits"....
As soon as I did the Find the Seeress quest and fought Twinblade (I think I spared him, he was alive when I walked away but I got no confirmation one way or another which sucked, I would have liked to see some gratitude) I returned to Bowerstone South. While there I decided to give some more books to the teacher.
SO HERE'S THE THING:
The very first book the teacher 'accepted' was AGAIN 'the Tale of Twinblade'. Because he'd already done his recitation of the book, I impulsively pressed Esc to skip the scene. As soon as I did that I was kicking myself because I had not saved recently.
I'm wondering if he would have given the kid a different answer to "what happened to Jack". Before I 'spared' his life, he said 'I'm dead anyway'. I'd like to know why. Would the teacher have told me that the other bandits killed him or something? Or is it a glitch where the teacher would have said the same thing. It seems significant that it was the only book to be read twice so far and that the teacher chose that very book the first time I saw him after completing that quest.
*Also, I chose the boast that involved doing that quest without killing a single bandit, therefore I had to pay the bandits to create a diversion so I could get past the gate into Twinblade's tent. I wanted to free the women from the cage instead (presumably they're there to be gang raped). After defeating Twinblade, they are no longer there. IS THERE A WAY TO FREE THEM WITHOUT KILLING THE BANDIT WHO SAYS HE HAS THE ONLY KEY?
