I saw this along with some other Borderlands videos a couple of days ago, the game looks pretty ****ing sweet, my favorite thing about it so far is mother effing acid guns that can melt faces off.
Despite the trailer I think that melee will be a very small part, afterall there's over a half million guns in the game and you're practically drowning in them. They created some sort of software that randomly generated guns using parts of models, textures and stats.

Yeah, they actually created like 100 guns and the program they made combined them and mixed to make 500,000 guns. I thought this looked really awesome.

not only that, upon choosing which of the base 4 characters you want to use. The armor is customizable, and your saved character is used in single player and online coop mode, similar to the diablo series. =D

just going to post all the positives about this game because i am A) obsessed and B) bored.

- millions of guns. literally.
- customizable vehicles for a full four man squad.
- a randomized map that is built so that beyond starting, there is no loading screens
- first person shooter rpg
- every form of multiplayer (online, split screen, etc...) is available for use
- your characters loot and stats is saved so you can train online as well as in couch coop
- the sniper class gets a pet hawk

Wow this looks awesome! I was just thinking the other day how much I would love a FPS RPG. Technicly, I guess you could call Fallout 3 a FPS, but I much prefer aiming down the sites of a gun, rather than off to the side with a dot on the screen.
