Bought a new Dell Inspiron 1520 Notebook

I decided to treat myself to a brand spanking new Dell Inspiron 1520 Notebook; for anyone interested - here are the specs:

• Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7300 Processor (2.0GHz, 800MHz, 4MB L2 cache)
• Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium
• Jet Black Colour with Matte Finish & Integrated 2.0 mega pixel web camera
• 15.4" UltraSharp™ Widescreen WSXGA+ (1680x1050) TFT Display with TrueLife™
• 2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]
• 160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
• nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory

Total price: £1,018.97

Not the most powerful rig in the world but it suits my needs and it means I can at least pwn up some Spider Solitaire at blazing fast speeds. Yup.

Update: Whoops! I only went and copy/pasted the wrong processor. Duh! Fixed now.

How I wish I could envy you... But I can't because thats not exactly my *dream* laptop.

(But, I've got a laptop, 2,5 years old: 15.4" (1680x1050) - 512 mb ram - 1.7 ghz intel centrino - 40 gb hard drive - Ati x600 mobile 128 mb, I'd prefer yours Although mine's from a custom builder in Amsterdam, which tastes better then Dell...)

I still want the Alienware one...but so long as I get to play, I don't care...

It's more for my benefit anyway so Steve can keep an eye on my when he's working in case I do something dumb like try to get up...

Not bad choice Steve some nice specs for a laptop, ive got my eye on a 512Mb Geforce card at moment just got to see what suits my needs best.

512MB GeForce, huh? Awesome. I'm also looking into buying an Alienware Area-51 ALX desktop at some point since my current PC is on its way out. But I'm not really in any hurry otherwise.

Also, I received a phone call from Dell about an hour ago - they're delivering the notebook tomorrow. They originally told me it would be ready on the 8th of August so that came as a bit of a surprise - a pleasant surprise, though. ^_^

In other news: I'll be fixing up the gallery tomorrow, too.

Yeah my GFX card although good is getting dated now and i might opt for a big processor upgrade somewhere down the line too. Alienware eh? Thats some pricey kit there, how did you manage to get cash for all this stuff? Nice that companies are delivering early for a change :lol:
