Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

Did you five Derek the 5 warrants at the beginning to Derek (turning Bowerstone Old Town into a well-off town with law and civilised (to a limited extent ;)) people) or Arfur (turning Bowerstone Old Town into a lawless slum full of thugs and prostitutes) and what made you choose to do it?

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I chose giving them to the guard

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I gave them to the Guard just because of the simple fact being.. You can profit more from the Better Version of Old Town.

Not sure if that's actualy true. You can go round stealing lots of stuff from there and extorting the villagers (and gathering experience form murder) early on that should be an advantage. Besides, funnily enough, the shopkeepers were giving me a 50% discount when I was there and the assasination societ kept needing my "help" and I got so much gold from it. First time round however, I gave them to the guard Derek so that's my vote.

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

But you get more in your income.

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

When it comes to income, I'd just buy houses elsewhere; problem solved.

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

In fact, even good players could benefit from the Old Town slum since they will still have the large 50% from the stores and it will only give them 5 evil points in doing so at the beginning of the game. Also, since you do not get any jobs in Bowerstone Old Town (wealthy version), there's no disadvantage there either.

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

Even as an evil person I'd give them to Derek, purely because Old Town after giving them to Derek is much better, with the shops and discounts etc.

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I'm gonna have to go with Derek on this one, if I wanna go all Jack the Ripper on prostitutes I go to the pirate town. (and trust me, I go Jack the Ripper on those bitches, damn filthy heretics)

But I got a 50% discount in the slum instead of the usual 25%.

But you don't enter Bloodstone until the end of the game. If you enter a lawless town early, the game can get a whole lot easier with all the stuff you steal. The assination job also keeps popping up allowing you to get 900 gold each time at pretty much the beginning of the game.

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

can't you steal nicer stuff if you help derek?

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I'm actually not sure. In fact, you may be right since I remember getting loads of cheap items. However, you can extort seveal people without fear of the law, buy items for less gold than the wealthy version and gain a fortune with the assination society (900 gold for one murder).

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I don't like the Assassin jobs, I'm more of a Displacement guy :)

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I'm currently playing on my EVIL profile, so I chose Arfur. Besides, there is nothing like murdering people with only other people to protect them (Whom you can also murder.)

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

It's the same over at the gimpsy game, half of them are armed

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I gave the Warrents to to Derek as I felt it was the Correct thing to do as a Good Hero; but I will be interested to see how things go on my Evil Save; which I have yet to start; when I will give the Warrants to Arfur :)

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

The town becomes something like westcliff/bloodstone

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

I always remember getting more gold out of the assinations. Anyway, sometimes killing several people to kill one can be fun but if you don't want to (the main reason being the law), you can always charm or intimidate them into following you, leave the region, then kill them. I find the whole slum thing very easy money which, if you are careful, you can get heaps of it early without the law stopping you.

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

For me spending a lot of XP in the skill area and a steady rifle does the job, boom, then run like hell

Re: Bowerstone Old Town Choice [SPOILERS]

Yes, but due to Fable 2 glitches, the law will notice and you will be wanted in that region permamently (although I've found that the Spire quest stops the law from wanting you unless you provoke them again).
