July 19, 2007 - Today Rockstar announced it is transferring last year's PlayStation 2 high school sandbox game Bully to the Wii and Xbox 360. Bully: Scholarship Edition will include the full original game as well as new content -- although Rockstar isn't saying what this new content will entail.

Bully was surrounded by controversy leading up to its release last year over fears that the game would promote violence in school. Once everyone got a chance to play it, though, it became apparent these fears were unfounded. Bully lacked much of the racy material Rockstar has become known for with its Grand Theft Auto series. This didn't make it any less enjoyable, though -- IGN gave Bully an 8.9.

And here's what Gamespot said...

Gamespot's Brendan Sinclair said:
Last year, Take-Two Interactive went to court to ensure that its boarding school action-adventure game Bully could be sold in US stores. While the game was a PlayStation 2 exclusive at the time, it appears the multiplatform editions of it were merely held back a year.
Take-Two today announced that Bully will be making its way to the Xbox 360 and the Wii, as Bully: Scholarship Edition is set for release this winter. Developed by Rockstar Games, the Scholarship Edition will introduce new content to the original release of Bully, though Take-Two did not say how much new content or what it would consist of.

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

I just might. I've wanted it since it came out, but it was only for the PS2. Sony dissapointed me with previous games I bought, so now I just stopped caring.

(They were games which I now know originally were for the 360/PS3, only downgraded in quality to fit the PS2 - yet no mention of that when you looked at the game. Illegal it should be...)

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

I think the 360 will have cleaned up graphics and textures, while the Wii will have the same PS2 graphics.

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

I think I'll pass.

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

The more I think about it; Doesn't it seem odd that a former PS2 exclusive is comming out to the Wii AND 360 BUT NOT for the PS3?

It is alittle strange, but i think the reason should be also obvious... Wii & 360 is where the money is at, and a few other reasons...

But awesome find Skotekal, I'll jot this one down on my games to get list. Hopefully this holiday, if it comes out this year...

What's the release date? does it have one?

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

I liked it on the PS2 and I might buy this one provided it isn't $60 but it probably will be.

Yep, all next-gen games are $60.... Except for Rock Band, That one is like $160, but it used to be like $200 or $290 i think? Since it's forcefully a bundle game only, with some silly instrument controllers.

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

:O The release date, I think, is this winter. Or as they stated as the fourth quarter of 2007.

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

I'm gonna need this game, I have 100.0% completion on the original, and it get's pretty boring after you've shoved fat kids into lockers for an hour.

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

I'd put into a second tier must have and given my schedule that means I probably won't get it. Looks fun though

Re: Bully: Scholarship Edition

Wonder if the 'Bully' title will have to be dropped and it referred to as 'Canis Canem Edit' again.
