Buying a gaming rig, any suggestions?

Definitely get a monitor.

Ironically I may use my old one as it was a decent monitor and a decent size too.

My laptop is getting worse by the day, not only running slow but the A/C jack is slowly getting worse and constantly have to fiddle around with cable to get pins to touch to charge and battery now dies at around 40%. Hence the reason I havent been online as much as usual and mainly browsing on my phone instead.
