Can I transfer gamerpoints?

I got Xbox Live yesterday, along with a new hard drive (I was using a memory card before this). I then transferred my saved fable game to my hard drive and continued to make a XBL account.

I thought I selected to create the XBL account on my user profile (which was saved to my memory card), but after I registered my XBL account, was wasn't syncd with my user account.

So then I moved my user account from my memory card to my hard drive in hopes of merging both XBL and user accounts.

Now I have a normal user account with about 700 points in achievements, and I cant get onto XBL with it to buy the Knothole Island patch.

Basically, what I want to know is, is it possible to transfer my achiement points from my non-XBL user account to my XBL user account, or so I have to go through all of those achievements again?

no, i made the same mistake when i joined live. i started a new profile and it was separate from my original one. so i ended up re earning my 4000is gamerscore befor i learned what i should have done. but its not to late for you.

you cant merge the points, but you can add the profile with the higher score onto xbox live, just log into it and select "join xbox live" when entering the info do NOT edit the name at all. thats what i did ( i changed it from "TJ Griffin" to "TJ Griffin 122") and it created a separate account.

i made the same mistake... my first accout was just called "logan" my name and i got ALL of the acevement points for oblivion and like 400 on bioshock and like 200 on crack down i had like 3000+GS on my first account then i got my live second :(

Sorry about posting in the wrong part of the forum, should have looked a bit more.
Going to try that out soon.
