I got the scimitar...i didnt even know it existed... i was trying to get into the bowerstone inns cellar, the lookout point statue was pointing towards the picknick area and i teleported to elite camp and talked to a trader... he was selling it for 499g i think i have a picture of it...

Wait, when they sit down near the campfire in the middle of the day, for me they don't actually put their weapon down, they sheathe it and it disappears.
