Cars

So, let's talk about them. What do you drive?

Me, I "have" a shiny blue Nissan Versa. I would've rather had a Ford Focus, but HEY! I ain't paying for it. When they were having the cash for clunkers program, we traded in our Ford Aerostar van (may she rest in peace) for a lot of money off the Versa.

Which, according to a random MSN article I read today, is one of the top ten most boring cars. I went, what? It has more power than the Scion xB my dad drives (not that that's saying much, since the box is basically a golf cart) and it gets better gas mileage than my mom's Ford Freestyle crossover. Plus, for a tiny car, it's BIG on the inside. And I'm really getting to the point where I love it. Which probably means that I'm boring.

But if it makes me feel better, my dream car is a Mustang.

Re: Cars

I can't drive yet, but out of the possible pass down cars I will probably get I am either getting a Toyota Tacoma, Ford Explorer or a Toyota Camry.

My dream car is anything that runs without guzzling gas and has a radio.

Re: Cars

I drive a black 1990 Nissan 300ZX, gets me to where I need to go and that's all I need.

My dream car would be a Dodge Viper RT/10. I got to drive it once and unfortunately went down a bad road, I never got to drive it again after that.

Re: Cars

I'm 17 so I can't legally drive yet, but my birthday is May 30th and I've saved up for a 2004 VW Golf which (hopefully) I'll get in the summer.

My ideal car is either a Mark 9 Mitsubishi Evolution or a Nissan Skyline GT-R.

I have a vendetta against Mustangs. That's personal.

I grew up with a Ford Taurus, the one car that I have seen take more abuse than any car should ever have to withstand and still operate above minimum expectations. I'm not ashamed to say that I will be looking to purchase one of these next time I'm in the market for a car.

What. That is very nearly sacrilege.

I have the same general feelings about the Aerostar. We bought the old girl in '97, and she was still running (mostly) in 2009. That van was awesome. I couldn't tell you how many thousands of miles we racked up in her.

Re: Cars

I'm forced to drive my mom's gold Toyota Sienna from 2003. It's terrible. My dad has a green Infiniti sedan, but he says it's too fast and won't let me drive it yet (even though my friend gets to drive his dad's BMW Z3).

My dream car is a Lotus Exige.

Re: Cars

I have a mid ninties Ford Falcon, but it's undrivable at the minute.

My dream car is a Porsche 911.

Re: Cars

Can't drive, point of contention in our house right now but that's another story.

I used to have a Ford Escort - complete with dodgy rear spoiler and red racing stripes (yay for chav cars!) but my ex took it out one evening and I never saw the car again...it was a piece of junk but the first car I had ever owned so it was MY piece of crap.

Anywho, I'm a Ford person meself just because they are cheap to run, maintain, insure and buy. If I EVER get to drive (miracles do happen), I'll probably end up with a Volvo though coz they are the safest car to my mind and I'm not putting my kids in any old piece of junk.

Re: Cars

Put it this way, if I'm going to be in a road traffic accident, I know which vehicle will most likely save my life and which will crush me like a bug. My sister used to have a Volvo and got hit by an articulated lorry on the motorway, getting swept to the central reservation across all three lanes - her car had a slight dent on the passenger side. Police told her if she had been in anything else, her passenger would be dead and she would have been badly injured. Volvos are the only cars to consider when you have a family, in my opinion.

Re: Cars

But Steve wont be able to pull any chicks if you get a Volvo. You have to think about the big picture.

I know, I know...tell you what, I'll buy him something from the instore rotisserie at our local supermarket to make him feel like he's at least partway there. Also, men with babies are supposed to be attractive to some (crazy) women so he's always got an in there, I suppose...

(just realised I'm close to pimping out my own husband. Should I be concerned?)

Of course, the best way to improve safety on the roads is to keep women out of the driver's seat in the first place. Men's job, get back to kitchen and make me a sammich.
Every person who has almost hit me with their car has been female. Because women are dopey and don't know what they're doing half the time. They think the rearview mirror is for applying lipstick and the wing mirrors are just pretty accessories for the cute car.

Women can't drive - so far nothing has convinced me otherwise...

Re: Cars

My dream car is a 1973 Dodge Challenger.

Of course, for my first car, a 1998/2002 Vauxhall Corsa or a Peugot 106.

You could always ask MTV to Pimp Your Steve.
